I thought rimmel was a decent drugstore brand, I'm from the UK so we get products at a reasonble price, though. I can't believe how much the products can be in other countries, $46!?!? O: How unfair. ):
I wish they would use Ayu's image here, but they won't. ): They have western models for rimmel in western countries. We did have kate moss, then sophie ellis bexter....i think we have lily cole now? xD

EDIT:

Got this picture off of the Japanese rimmel website:

They also give you a picture on how to put the product on like they've done on her, which is cool :)

That's one thing i've always liked about Japanese make-up and magazines, they come with how-to guides. :D

^ sooo cute, thanks for sharing!

Haha, the $46 estimation probably isn't converted correctly. In the US, Rimmel mascaras go for $5-10. My current one is 8-ish.

Yes, it's all in the details!! The Japanese always do these helpful little things and I love it!!

If I find that make up I'd get it, or maybe in different colours but I really like it, especially hers!

I think the question of "is Rimmel a good brand?" is very hard to answer. They are a drugstore brand, meaning that they are made usually with lower quality ingredients to make it a little less costly for the average buyer. I find with drugstore brands, you really have hit and misses. Like, the foundations are usually never as pigmented or cover as well as the department store brands, but for someone with very little skin imperfections, the drug store brands will do fine. My personal opinion on Rimmel, after using many of their products (they always draw me in with the flashy packaging) is that they are decent, just like most other drugstore brands.

More on topic, have they actually announced that Ayu will appear in all of the Rimmel ads around Asia?

When it comes to quality, Rimmel definatly has the best drugstore foudations (I mean the best ) I also have their pencil liners, they're pretty good, I don't know if the quality differs in countries though, anyone know?

chloeM 13th August 2010 04:17 AM

aww~ wish i could see her face in malaysia~

erika_ayu 13th August 2010 08:05 AM

RIMMEL lip-gloss in Malaysia is awesome though!!

AyuWorld 13th August 2010 11:17 AM

me too, hope to see that in watson in malaysia >.< dont change it like they did with the rimmel ad at the back of Seventeen magazine,

gallowsCalibrator 13th August 2010 09:34 PM

I want to buy RIMMEL even though I don't wear makeup! :P

Kikaru 16th August 2010 08:08 AM

That's pretty cool =D I'm kinda amazed that being a drugstore brand, it cost $19.95 though. Rimmel is considered to be fairly cheap in the states...

I wonder how this mascara is compared to the ones here in US. I have stick-straight, downwards pointing Asian lashes, and the Rimmel mascaras here (even the waterproof ones, which generally does the trick for me) doesn't hold a curl.

Their lasting finish lipsticks are love though.

Ayu_Love 18th August 2010 12:44 AM

^My eyelashes are like that! When I try to curl them, they curl slightly, then go back to being straight in 2 seconds. xD I've always liked the quality of rimmel's eyeshadow, even if some of them crumble overtime. I also love Urban Decay eyeshadow.

gothicayu 20th August 2010 01:35 AM

you are so lucky i wish we had this ad in US

so far all i can tell is rimmel mascara in US is not good . i try it everytime a new one comes out but its always a disapointement . from this brand i like the foundation better

i think the quality of the product sell in asia and US might be different . asian eyelash and white people eyelash are not the same . i m guessing for asian they might make it a bit thicker .

thanks for posting the tutorial i will have to try the eye shadow because i really love ayu make up .

Ayu_Love 20th August 2010 03:07 AM

I love asian-style make-up, it's a shame cause I have western eyes so it dosen't suit me. ):

gothicayu 20th August 2010 09:11 AM

Ayu_Love--->i know what you mean .i buy japanese magazine all the times for the make up tutorials , even for the tuto i cannot fallow them fully because the eyes and eyelines are different , the face form is different .

asmAyumi1992 2nd December 2010 08:54 AM

I'm lucky enough to see this ad in Watson in MALAYSIA! HAHAH

Sirea 3rd December 2010 05:37 PM

I agree about wanting to do Japanese makeup... I've always loved Ayu-style eyeliner, but could never pull it off because my eyes are far too round - even Ayu's big eyes are pretty almond-shaped compared to mine :/

And wow, some makeup is so expensive. I don't wear makeup that often, so I can never justify spending more than like $10 on one product, maybe $15 if it's like a palette of some kind. I'm cheap. xD

SKYia 3rd December 2010 05:56 PM

I bought it, but I don't like it. I've got the red one, waterproof, I need to put many coats and still can hardly see any effect, it only gives a little lenght, no boldness. zbesides I didn't know it's waterproof and was shocked when I couldn't remove it for the first time (even though I always use a remover for waterproof make up). Normally I use Loreal's Double Extention, it's so awesome, no comparison.

StarSUCKER 7th December 2010 05:30 AM

I think Rimmel products are okay. Certainly not expensive in the US, at least. I've tried one of their mascaras (I think it was called Lash Flirt? It was a while ago), and I liked it because it didn't clump. I'm lucky enough that I don't need a lot done to my eyelashes though--I need more complexion-related products instead.

ayuPanda 8th December 2010 05:11 PM

why can we have Rimmel with ayu in Europe Q_Q
but no..we have the most ugly model ever -.- kate moss
