I think it's a dream that repeats again and again. She wakes up, walk with the dogs and everything explodes. Then she wakes up again and everything repeats.

Calico 22nd December 2010 12:37 AM

I had a totally different interpretation of the light at the end. When you see her change location you see her walking on "subway" tracks (althuogh in reality they're the universal tram tracks, lol) and thus I thought the light at the end was a subway coming to wipe them all out =P

lumieregrl 22nd December 2010 02:00 AM

Love the song...Love the way Ayu looks...Could REALLY do without the camera effects--unfortunately they make me feel motion sick. o.O I'm curious about the flash of light at the end though...

Larisa-chan 22nd December 2010 02:11 AM

Someone mentioned in another post that it kind of looked like Ayu was blind. In the PV, she clearly wasn't, but it would have made this BORING PV 100 times better if she HAD been blind. Walking outside with the dogs to guide her, while not seeing the destruction and chaos that was going on around her. (And then they needed to add more to this idea, because Do It Again is a long song, and her walking around with dogs for nearly 6 minutes ain't cutting it.)

At the end with the subway scene, with the light, she should finally regain her vision only to see the whole world being wiped out by some explosion. That would be epic (and yes I know I'm morbid.) I mean, she could have pulled it off. She had this blank stare a lot of the time when she was walking the dogs.

But I'll be honest, it was a boring PV with her walking dogs or sitting on a couch, or again, seeing random guys do random talents (that part reminded me of Microphone briefly).

Also, the PV made me so dizzy I thought I was going to literally throw up with all the camera angle changes. :(

yamadashun 22nd December 2010 04:51 AM

my own intepretation is that, ayu was dragged by "Destiny" and "Chance" (the 2 huge dogs) through a chaotic life, and in the end, she reached Nirvana (the light).

waterballoon 22nd December 2010 04:53 AM

^ omg wow :O that's a pretty one there.

lilchan 22nd December 2010 04:59 AM

To me it was just Curtain Call with a better background and dogs thrown in the mix..I spent the entire time looking for signs of strain in her expression becuase it really looked she had trouble with the dogs...

ruixiong89 22nd December 2010 05:13 AM

I thought it was pretty obvious she had those dogs as a form of protection. I mean given the situation she was in, she definitely needed some deterrent and those came in the form of those dogs.

I think the motion effects were cool though, but I had the idea at the end that there was some kind of nuke explosion wiping all of them out. Although I agree that it does seem like a dream.

Um, I don't really have a formal interpretation. But I believe she was dead to be honest. Maybe dead inside, maybe a dead spirit. She gets up and performs her daily tasks and she goes out and she's surrounded by destruction and chaos yet she keeps on walking and it is all goes pretty unnoticed from her point of view. I agree with the one person who mentioned the repetitive camera movements and actions. It emphasizes on the mundane reality of her world, that she's simply a robot (she kind of looks like one) doing the only thing she knows how to do.

I think the dogs represent her responsibilities (dancing and singing maybe? being an artist in general) she walks these dogs through the entire PV because she is constantly burdened by these responsibilities throughout her journey. I think the fact that they are HUGE represents that they are huge responsibilities.

She goes into the tunnel and some people come up behind her, maybe to warn her, or hurt her. I'm not sure but I'm going with to hurt her. The army (ayu's defenses?), which I like to think of as a the people who try to keep the other people (maybe the record company or people who benefit from Ayu's repetitive life) from stopping her from waking up and realizing the kind of world she lives in. She gets to the "light at the end of the tunnel" and she releases her "responsibilities" but from there we're left hanging. We don't really know if she wakes up or if she just repeats her day as usual. I'm assuming she begins to really "live" for the first time since she's not tied to those damn overgrown dogs LOL.

Again there may be some flaws in my interpretation ^^; I hope it makes sense.

Btw, best PV ever~ Based off what I took from it, very powerful! It's not as clear-cut as alterna perhaps, but I put it right up there with amazing symbolism connected to a powerful message.

TITANIC 22nd December 2010 05:58 AM

I love the camera movement and the beginning she looks so beautiful. other than that just so so

ohsixthirty 22nd December 2010 06:36 AM

i disagree with what people seem to be saying about the ending. i don't think she's waking up or anything like that, she's seeing a giant explosion! if you look at everyone else in the PV, and the dog, you see they all look the same direction because thats where the explosion is! :yes

AyUmIXx 22nd December 2010 03:23 PM

the song itself is so amazing, and actually i was so impressed with the short version PV.. and thought that it would have been great one ever, but after i watched the full version, it's kinda boring for me, like somebody already said, if ayu could ever do something else instead of just walking and walking, it would be more interesting.. and those two big dogs...I really don't understand why they are there..haha XD even though it's cool but Ayu looked somehow "stupid" being pulled by the dogs..u could notice in some scenes, she looked like she was pulled and she looked kinda scared a little bit haha..and it's funny somehow haha XDD but i actually like the effects of how the camera was taking the scenes.. the moving scenes.. that's awesome one :)

despite of the so-so PV, I still like the song the BEST from this album :)

oops i just read jbrat2219's interpretation, it made sense somehow.. thanks!
maybe i can like the PV more :)

The best thing about these kind of videos is that you can create many different plausible interpretations and still be right! That's why I live for these videos lol.

That's what I thought too. I thought the soldiers stopped the guys behind Ayu because the train was coming.

Ayumi_Hamasaki902 22nd December 2010 03:53 PM

I just saw the full version of it this morning and it's probably one of my all time favorite Ayu PVs that she has made in a LONG time!

Tony G 22nd December 2010 04:23 PM

Love song and Last angel... you could figure out bits and pieces yourself. This video.. I just had no idea. So it was really interesting to read some of the interpretations. I did get a 'walking proud' feel from the video though, and all the random actors doing stuff was reminiscent of Microphone.

I was honestly waiting for one of the dogs to attack lol.

Michan 22nd December 2010 05:43 PM

I don't know. But I think Virgin Road, Love Songs and Last Angel are connected with this pv. At the begginer I think she wakes up in Limbo and those random people/set like it was the end of the world or war represents the pain that people feel because they weren't good on their previous life (= committed sins) so that's the reason why they are stuck there.
Why Ayu is in Limbo? I thin is because in her previous life she wasn't a good girl (You can see her behavior in Virgin Road, for example).
I didn't understood why she was only walking and being there with the dogs -_-. (Maybe they are guiding her to the right way?)
But in the end when she saw the light I guess is like the crossover.
Anyway, I didn't like that much of the pv because is so boring and she is just standing there doing nothing x.x

very interesting, i like your interpretation.
i liked the camera movements a lot in the beginning, but when they did it again during the end it felt less polished and it got too much tbh.

they could have done so much with this pv, but as usual, they didn't :(

isn't the guy dancing the same one from microphone on the stairs?

after seeing all the new pvs i must say i am more pleased with them. at least they're more exciting than moon, sweet season ect, where she just looks pretty :P

neuteka 22nd December 2010 09:11 PM

I thought it was pretty awesome. I thought the song fit with the composition of the Video, which is really important for me.

Even though the camera effect gave me a bit of a headache in the beginning, I got used it and went on thinking it was pretty cool. I think I will watch this PV a few more times just to decipher it, I feel like I need to.

PV: 7/10, Song: 9.5/10

~*Mabushii*~ 22nd December 2010 09:52 PM

I think Ayu is just trying to say it doesn't matter what kind of drama goes on around her/surrounds her she will keep in going until she's claimed by the "light" that people see when they're dying?

You know? Where people go "towards a bright light" when they die?
Maybe from all the Lady Gaga rumors and all the other rumors that people try and bring up about her. She'll just keep dancing, and singing despite it all?

At least, that's my current thought after only watching the full PV one time. ^_^;
