she seems like, it's more like an unfamiliarity with the song more than anything, because she's not really off key or anything, she just seems a little unsure of how to go about singing the song and where to change her vocals and stuff.

yeah. probably cause the album's not out yet, it's still a new song for us and for her, she's never sung it live before, and it's a "how should I sing this?" first time experience. Which I think is what made her sound a bit uncertain and flat and weak in parts. I think people saying her vocals are amazing are just not over the "wow" factor of hearing a new song for the first time.

I'm sorry ayu, DejaVu is gonna pwn Love songs. Win!

Kingdom 28th January 2011 02:21 AM

lol if that is "weak" vocals, I might need to get my ears checked because she sounded pretty good! the opening to it started out shaky but by the end of the song I was in love.

no, I just think she did fine. nothing sounded terrible to me. :shrug I was actually impressed.

I kind of noticed the first note being a little off but it wasn't horrible. Plus like someone said, it's new for her and all of us so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

to each, his own i guess.

So the first note was a bit off! I thought I heard something, but I assumed it was me XD

speaking of her live vocals, I think 99% of the time kuu is really good singing live. she sounds almost identical to the recordings of her songs and a lot of the time even better. that's just how I feel lol some people might think I'm crazy but w/e.

jbrat2219 28th January 2011 02:48 AM

But seriously, I'm the only one who thought of Dilemma listening to this song? I swear I heard the little "oh's" in the background, too!

her live vocals are really good most of the time. But I think this time around it sounded weak in the beginning. Maybe she was nervous performing a new song? :shrug

pretty much except every now and then her dance songs will sound a bit off. Probably because she's dancing and singing, and she doesn't sound so horrible I can't listen, but like when we were getting all the lives of TABOO, sometimes she sounded really good and then other times she was really nasally.

yeah, if she's dancing a lot then it's alright for her to not sound as good.
her live voice is why I'm glad she got the Queen Of Live title for Japan. no matter what, I know that whatever live I watch from her is going to have good vocals.

Somebody needs to add the fact that she is the Queen of Live on her Wiki page :P

I heard Pop Diva today & I must say I like the song very much. Has it been released yet or anything? Sorry I been out of touch with Koda Kumi for a while.

jean-baptiste 28th January 2011 03:20 AM

wow, i thought that "The Queen of Live" was just a term us over-zealous fans came up with. i didn't know Japan actually gave her that title. that's awesome!

We're all waiting eagerly for it to leak -- I mean be released properly :D :D

honestly, I'm not surprised Kuu got the Queen of Live nod. I haven't seen anything like her performances, and I'm completely hooked on them. She can rock a stage and has a great voice for the most part (I've never been bothered at her live singing, anyway~). It looks like so much fun to see her perform ;; I'd love to go someday...

I don't think there was like an official award but I think it's what it says on her DVD covers nowadays. I think there's like a sticker on them that says "QUEEN OF LIVE"? and then it says it on her Official site when they announce a new DVD or concert.

Bad Wolf 28th January 2011 03:34 AM

And God said, "Kuu is the Queen of Live." And God saw a Kuu live. And it was good lol.

Zeke. 28th January 2011 04:23 AM

Yes the QUEEN OF LIVE was very self (avex) proclaimed...

Polyrhythm 28th January 2011 04:58 AM

Self proclaimed or not, she obviously deserves the title. It's not like anyone else in Japan puts on a show like she does.
