AKB's not with avex and this isn't a first year they have artists outside of their label perform. Remioromen also performed at a-nation and a few others.

^ Yeah, each tour date usually has a guest artist from another label. It's interesting though that AKB seems to be one of the main artists performing at all dates. They are far more popular than anyone at AVEX right now so....hmmm...don't know really how it will go. :)

Avex usually invites artists to perform at A-Nation that are not part of Avex family. One year TM Revolution performed at A-Nation. Maybe 2005 I think.

Actually, they had an event in 2001 in Summer that was almost a-nation, but didn't have the name a-nation, so I think they are counting that one too, according to the wikipedia for a-nation (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-nation)

Thanks for the info. For me this doesn't exactly makes sense. Then the whole thing is called a-nation just for fun? I mean, they have enough artists, why invite AKB48? Especially when they started to produce Girl Groups that were/are promoted as AKB48 rivals or something. I don't really care if AKB48 are there or not. I know that they are popular and all.....well, I just don't see the sense in it.

Cool, AKB48 will be there :D Maybe they've not been getting the attendance they've expected the past few years? I don't know. Either way, I'm not complaining about AKB48.

It's exactly like Bigtop and Mai said. Two subunits of AKB are under Avex label, DiVA and French Kiss. I'd imagine they will be the only members there.

Usually the guest artists don't perform at all the dates, even though that seemingly isn't the case this year.

a-nation usually doesn't have a glamorous stage set and effects, so I don't think they'll be changing the set so much.

maikaru has pretty much explained it. The first one wasn't called a-nation though, but avex summer festa (or something like that).
