I think I remember back in the day, Ayu would perform even if she was really sick...

I know there's a good chunk of appears lives that...are less than enjoyable cause she was ill.

It would be healthier for her and for her voice to lip-synch it or post off the performance...

We will never know if she done that cuz she felt like it was the right thing to do, or if was Avex... In the end of the day, the labels in Japan don't really care about the artists welfare and health if they still are profitable...

^I know :/ she can REALLY do damage...my voice was never the same after I had strep really bad last year. /sigh

People always have this ideology that they should go to work rain or shine, sick or healthy...and it's not necessarily the best course of action, no matter how good it looks.

She still held it together! It kind of sounds like they even lowered the pitch a little so she wouldn't have to reach as many high notes.

Ayu had quite a bad cold. After all, they had only concerts throughout the year. CDL01-02, AT02, Stadium Tour, a-nation, and CDL02 AT02-03.
And in 2002 she has recorded many singles.

she was sick at the time so it's still reasonable why she sounded like that.
i remember she was also sick during ARENA TOUR 02-03, the last stop that made into DVD.

when she injured her leg/knee and lost her hearing temporarily..i think avex asked her not to perform anymore seeing her condition like that..but ayu insisted to perform for her fans that already coming and she didn't want to disappoint them.
that's AYU we know. she's stronger when she's on stage to sing for the fans.

Actually, if I'm not wrong, Avex gave her a ton of pain killers and threw her on stage :P

If I'm not wrong this performance was after the cdl. She used to perform on CDTV after her cdl (or just before?) on the 31th.

Yeah I agree! I think it's great of her to give it a shot and I really love that she tried her best (even though it didn't sound to good), but it's not worth losing your voice. She seemed like she was straining her voice really bad... :(

Yeah it was in one of her documentaries I saw awhile back! She didn't wan't to let her fans down, so she performed.

Actually, knowing how much it sucks to try and sing while sick I think she sounds great for what she's experiencing! I understand her pain completely, and it's her strength and determination that really makes it for me.
