I loved fated to bits, and I think glitter was a VERY good song. nothing wrong with it~~~~

jean-baptiste 7th September 2011 01:06 AM

I became an ayu fan when this single was released, so these 2 songs were one of the first I listened to.

Four years on, glitter and fated still have the same effect on me it had back then. It's rare that after thousands of listens a song could do that to me.

i've always loved both songs so much! "glitter" is just so fun & "fated" is a beautiful ballad. love them, both. :heart

I can never understand the hatred towards glitter/fated o_O , the songs are great even though glitter does sound like a poor cousin of BLUE BIRD

I don't like the covers & I find Kyo Ai a bit over-rated for my liking but other than that , the songs are nice , even though it has been 4 years since the single was released

Still like glitter and hate fated, I barely even remember how the original fated goes! (i LOVE fated x MAKOTO though). Pv has it's cute moments but overall is still disappointing and I love the cd only cover :yes

Exactly how many songs have you listened to thousands of times? I've listened to my most played song ever about 250 times and I'm pretty much over it. Over a thousand is just ridiculous.

I always liked fated very much and i consider it among the underrated ballads.
Glitter..well.. it has never been pretentious song, pretty simple and upbeat, something typical for a summer single..In the end the song is not bad, i repeat, it's not pretentious and maybe the lyrics are a little bit poor but definitely not a bad song (at least not that bad).
Moreover i admit i loved the PVs project and they're still among my favourites.

I love them both, and I've always loved them.

I don't think they're in the top tier of great Ayu songs, but I still like them.

Glitter has an unusual melody, and is just pure fun.

Fated is just, one of those songs, like the rock songs from Secret and stuff. But that note at the end of the chorus saved it for me.

kendelle 7th September 2011 07:43 AM

I quite like it, although I find the PV kind of typical and boring compared to her other offerings.

Both the songs stand well on their own, lyrically and musically so I can't complain that much xD Then again I love almost all of Ayu's stuff that even the abomination of Sunrise has grown on me.....hahaha

FoObY 7th September 2011 08:03 AM

lol.. Gutter/Dated. The things I miss around here.

I'd say they're both okay. Neither are high up in my books in their respective categories ("glitter" for summer pop and "fated" for ballads). I listened to them a lot when GUILTY came out, but they're not songs I'll go back to when I'm in need of a serious dose of ayu.

Lanz16 7th September 2011 08:11 AM

Its still one of my favorite singles up to now! :)

Midori-chan 7th September 2011 08:12 AM

I'll never understand why so many people seem to hate "glitter/fated" (the same with the "Secret"-album...it's freaking flawless, at least in my eyes!).

I've always liked both songs. When I'm feeling down, I just need to put on "glitter" and I'll feel better immediately.
I don't like "fated" so much (which says something, because I normally love Ayu's ballads!), but it's also a very beautiful song!

ayu-sake 7th September 2011 08:19 AM

damn i never knew there was so much for glitter/fated. i loved the PVs, typical love story, but with Ayu, and her first on screen kiss iirc? glitter is such an upbeat song. and i love listening to fated live from CDL 07-08.

yoshino 7th September 2011 10:43 AM

wow these 2 songs I hardly listen to them lol. They seem to be OK for me that's all. Not something that I will choose to listen them on my mp3.

I rather listen to Sunrise/Sunset! hahaha.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 7th September 2011 10:46 AM

Being an ignorant ayufan was the best, getting to know how everyone trolled her works ruined it for me.

I didn't visit/know much about AHS back when this single was released, I was sooooo stunned by it, thought it was amazing and incredible.

ll moments ll 7th September 2011 10:54 AM

it's okay. not her best summer single, imo. i could enjoy it if i'm in the mood.

thatstacey 7th September 2011 11:12 AM

Sometimes I wish the vocals on "glitter" were mixed a little differently (the chorus can be pretty grating, but the verses are cute). Otherwise, I still really like this single. It's not a ~classic, but both songs are pretty solid; they get the job done and don't overstay their welcome, I guess.

I still lovelovelove the CD-only cover. Unlike Sunrise/Sunset, it actually made use of the location.

Mai82Go 7th September 2011 12:55 PM

Loved them both and remember that people in 2007 on another Ayu forum were critizising them heavily, I could not understand that. I actually still think fated is one of Ayus best ballads. So I still love them.

xLuna&1LOVE 7th September 2011 03:57 PM

Really guys? I, on the other hand, like Greatful Days. Must say that I am not so fond of Ayu's summerish hits (BLUE BIRD as exeption of course)

I have never seen glitter/fated as a horrible single. I had dislike glitter for a while, but there were times I just needed the YAY YAY YAY happiness. I see this single as a typical Japanese production. My view of general JPop are cheesy love songs and ballads (as Days and fated) or very happy sounding melodies (as Glitter, Boys&Girls etc.)

And my opinion did not change after 4 years. But since it got released I never really listened to it anymore, so yeah.

U-GO-BOY 7th September 2011 04:03 PM

I like both songs but I always skip them when I'm listening to GUILTY :D
