I would be very happy to see it break 200k! I hope it can!

truehappiness 17th September 2011 03:53 AM

It'd be pretty amazing if it does... this is only a five track mini album after all!

Masamune 17th September 2011 09:00 AM

200ks is affordable & it is a success considering that is a mini album

brener 17th September 2011 10:23 AM

also considering the lack of promotion...

thatstacey 17th September 2011 11:39 AM

^I don't get the "lack of promotion" thing (then again, I never do). There might not have been a lot of TV performances, but she's been performing the new songs at a-nation. She's also been on the cover of a lot of magazines recently, and "progress" has been omnipresent in gaming circles. In additions to TV CMs, the song was playing constantly in stores leading up to the game's release (not sure about now...?), and the game itself sold more than five times its closest competitor on the software charts in its first week. That's a lot of people who--at the very least--were exposed to "progress" and could potentially want exclusive DLC and artwork.

I'd be really interested to learn the final breakdown in FIVE's sales between the three versions.

most of the people who attend a-nation are Ayu fans, so promoting the song to the fan base which already knows about your album is more or less pointless. It's nothing compared to what AKB, arashi, EXILE or kpop acts get these days. Ayu never does variety shows now days and she barely performs on TV or does radio interviews...

thatstacey 17th September 2011 12:00 PM

^ Ok, that makes sense.

I guess I just see what she's doing now as a different kind of promotion instead of a ~lack. The way some people here go on about the ~lack of promotion (which was not your nor brener's comment), it sounds like she and Avex do absolutely nothing and the album appears at #1 by the hand of the J-pop gods.

njanjayrp 17th September 2011 12:10 PM

^ it's not nothing, but it seems to me that they aren't doing much to get her songs out there. Still progress has deffo benefited from Tales of Xillia.

*5,829 浜崎あゆみ
*4,409 AAA
*1,741 シェネル

Back to #1. It seems the MSta drama gave her a solid boost :D

I'd say the album will definitely sell 200k at this point and I would love to see it outsell Dejavu (but that's just me) xD

YUKARI 17th September 2011 12:29 PM

^OMG back to the top again!!!! will be fantastic if she stays number 1 this week too :ybiggrin

If she doesn't sell 40k in two days she won't...as AAA have crossed 50k therefore they will be this week's #1 album.

ayumisrael 17th September 2011 12:37 PM

5th Day
Position: #1
Sales: 5,829
Daily Sales: 16,725
Total Sales: 174,013

omg I can't believe this boost!! ayu had no such a thing since like... god knows when! 2006?2005?

SURREAL__RAINBOW 17th September 2011 01:08 PM

didn't I say that not performing would boost sales :laugh

hilarious xD but amazing *___*

Amuro_Ray 17th September 2011 01:15 PM

Can't believe that she can get daily no#1 for 3rd week

Mai82Go 17th September 2011 01:23 PM

Where did that sudden increase come from? This is really good for Ayu. Yay!

Didz-19 17th September 2011 01:30 PM

I am not sure. Might be MSta...who knows. At this point the album should cross 180k next week :D

Mai82Go 17th September 2011 01:48 PM

^Not being at MSta brought an increase? Then she should never perform there again. :D

SURREAL__RAINBOW 17th September 2011 02:04 PM

omgg does this mean she could get #1 for the 3rd week too?? :O

Mai82Go 17th September 2011 02:13 PM

^very unlikely if you look at the numbers. AAA are too far ahead. It seems like a good week for Naoya. :)

njanjayrp 17th September 2011 02:48 PM

Currently AAA are standing at around 54k while Ayu is at 16k ^^
