Sure!

My translated version:
Spoiler:
Return Road

My eyes were on you and your eyes were on me

Our eyes met and we forgot how to breathe
Alone now, I close my eyes
And silently replay the moment we first met
In my mind

Why won't my tears stop over something as little as that?
We saw, felt and pledged to something without form
Is it still smiling at us somewhere?

Our eyes are no longer focused on each other

But that doesn’t mean that our eyes
Are on something else now
It simply means that the thing which seemed so certain that day
Doesn’t exist anymore

Others probably call us a joke
But no matter who talks about us with a know-it-all look on his or her face
Yes, only we know the truth

Why won't my tears stop over something as little as that?
We saw, felt and pledged to something without—

Others probably call us a joke
But no matter who talks about us with a know-it-all look of his or her face
Yes, only we know the truth

It's more freely translated than Misa-chan's version.

This song is totally about Mannie...It's so sad.

ayuuk 14th March 2012 04:16 PM

hud 14th March 2012 04:19 PM

L.... 14th March 2012 04:32 PM

waterballoon 14th March 2012 04:54 PM

her rawest lyrics.. ever since.. A Song For xx, walking proud..? how beautiful

Minttulatte 14th March 2012 05:54 PM

This song kinda reminds me of appears in lyrics wise. That song has a little bit similar lyrics. I can also see that this song is definitely about Mannie. What really makes me think this way are those mentions of "jokes" and "know-it-all faces of his or hers". It just reminds me of all that drama this relationship created back then and after the divorce.

I think that I started to love this song even more now after this translation. I want more. <3

The lyrics reek of Manuel Schwarz. Great stuff.

I love the emotion in these lyrics. Thanks so much for the translations.

Yea, the last line of the chorus is almost a refrain of appears, though the context is the complete opposite. And it is saddening to know that ayu knows how almost everyone felt her marriage was a joke/publicity stunt.

And thanks for your translation tenshi, I love how you wrote it out like it's a letter to someone. :D

Well the PV does have a picture of them at the end on the ground, so it's hard to not think it's about them.

People read "The song isn't really a sequel to Virgin Road" or something as "The song isn't related to her divorce."

In fact, I think a lot of the songs on the album are directly related to her marriage and what she and Mannie had together.

Exactly. This is DEFINITELY about the divorce but it's not a Virgin Road sequel. Incidentally, she is dressed like a mourning bride in the video.

untitled-for-her 15th March 2012 04:09 AM

Oh goodness, these lyrics, along with the PV, reflect my current position so well. As always, she perfectly captures strong emotions like these. Beautiful.

Bad Wolf 15th March 2012 04:11 AM

^ I understand :( "fated" did that for me years back... it's the song that got me listening to her again, and even when I hear it now my heart always twinges.

*hearT_Place* 15th March 2012 04:48 AM

These are such raw lyrics.

Thanks!
