My music background is only limited as well, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I am pretty sure they go up to the same note and the build-up in kanariya is actually a bit easier. What makes kanariya hard is that there's SO many high notes, with an incorrect technique your throath will be sore after just singing it once. That may be why she never sang it live.

I think I read in someone's post here once that it's been said she can't sing it, and that the song is already edited to fit in with what the composer wanted the vocal range to be? He wanted it higher, Ayu couldn't do it, she sung it lower and they edited it.

Something like that, I don't remember where they sourced it from though.

I would like to see it when it is available again, but honestly would be more impressed to see a live video. Studio recordings is kind of cheating.

I heard that rumoured a lot, but never saw an official source. I mean, the song IS in her range, she has sung the same notes live many times and has them in I think 3 or 4 more songs. Of course that's a possiblity though and the significance of canaries to the song makes it neccessary for the melody to be as high as it is I think.

About the kanariya thing. Considering her Duty performance at CDL1011 and that Duty goes up to a F5 if I recall correctly the F5s in kanariya should be in her reach as well, just that there's a whole lot more in kanariya.

From CDL 2004 - 2005 Duty, she's been singing it one semitone lower than the actual song on Duty album.

I've posted the REUPPED version by the uploader. Enjoy!

Nice but the D5 theme of a-nation clip isn't Ayu IMO..

Thanks! :D It's back up~ That was certainly a really cool watch. I don't know much about music, so it's nice to see her range all laid out like that. I didn't realize how much of her range she actually still has. Also, does anyone know what the 3rd song for Eb5 under Falsetto is? O.o

Delicious n Bold 2nd June 2012 10:39 PM

^the third song for Eb5 under falsetto is Love song from the Love songs album.

I think this video can finally shut up the "she lost her range and can't sing anymore!!!" argument so frequent on AHS.

Granted the F5 may be lost(so one semi-tone gone at the top) since apparently I was wrong about the Duty lives, thanks to maikaru for that information, but her range at the lower end has greatly improved(from E3s early on to a (spoken) Eb3 in 2005 to a wellsung C#3 in 2012). Her headvoice range was extended greatly. And when you hear old notes compared to new ones the new ones were almost always much better. (See: The D5s and Eb5s, or the Daybreak C#5s compared to the Like a Doll ones)

Heavenly 3rd June 2012 01:07 AM

The D5 from falsetto part (the begining of No More Words) is certainly not her voice.
I always thought it was someone else : the vibrato doesn't sound the same as Ayu's.

JackieRos 3rd June 2012 04:48 AM

I didn't recognize some of the songs.
Holy crap now I feel bad lmao

TeamAyu2004 3rd June 2012 04:54 AM

^ I was thinking the same thing..
most are on the tip of my tongue, but im like... WHICH ONE IS THAT?!?!

George 3rd June 2012 05:38 AM

I didn't recognize some too.

And I just realized how much I love her lower register.

Really? I think it's hers.
She did have a fast, brilliantly ringing vibrato back then.

p/s: I love that intro very much because of that vibrato!

jewelbox 3rd June 2012 11:03 PM

omg kanariya

emi♡ 4th June 2012 02:15 AM

Nice they made one for Ayu, even though it actually just reminds me of how much her voice has deteriorated.

Believe what you want.

And ooo they have one for Beni.

sailorseraphim 6th June 2012 12:50 PM

AWSM!!!! Wish I could get a list of the songs used tho
