I just don't understand how anyone thought snowy kiss was ok to release as it is. It looks like an early 90s video in its editing and presentation. I understand what they were trying to convey but it was just terrible. Wake up was boring too. Sweet scar was pleasant but nothing ground breaking. I would have loved something different for this trilogy but then I hated you & me too. The best PV for these releases so far was Missing and even that one wasn't amazing. Hopefully one of these releases will have a really good PV.

For the first time in a long time I REALLY LOVE these PVs. I can see how some would find them boring for sure because in a sense they are technically boring. Ayu doesn't always have to do flashy and deeply meaningful PVs for me to be happy, every PV doesn't have to have the production value of GREEN or the complexity of in plot of Return Road. Wake me up was a pretty typical pop music video for many musicians in America but it was fun and had a dark plot at the end, pretty cool, I didn't get bored with it, watched it all the way through and the end came before I knew it. Sweet Scar was a little boring and weird (like what she was doing, not very many people walk around hugging a pillow for a while and then sings to a plant) but the ending where she's in front of the painting and that stare is gorgeous, very lovely. snowy kiss, this was my favorite it was emotional, deep, and dark. Yes it was kinda "white trash-y" but we all go through these times in our life and I thought the slow motion was cool. Now I'm going to go watch these again!

Thats why I like it, it reminds me of globe's "wanna be a dream maker" PV

Ayu's music videos was art, but now she subsided with doing great music videos. So sad, because with the Extended Play "Again" she has since long time ago good songs. Now we can follow her relationship problems until "A Winter Best" lol.

i'm really not crazy about this trilogy. the only scene i really liked was her sitting on top of the car at night singing. sweet scar was ok though. i felt totally mesmerized by her eyes. like this: O_O

exactly my thought when I saw wake me up the first time

Embleu 8th December 2012 10:47 PM

I'm not really into her romance & relationships PVs; give me her brand of slightly outre, artistically deep, thematically universal, usually vaguely unsettling videos. So this release was a huge letdown for me at least in the visual arena. :\

adantatu2 8th December 2012 11:12 PM

Sweet Scar is good !!! I thought it could be boring, but is nice.

And the other 2 pv's are OK, plz ayu stop with the love story trilogy's videos

Luvia 9th December 2012 05:59 AM

i don't like all these pvs... as in the content, the storyline of the pvs... the way they shoot the pv is nice though.. but i don't like the fact that Ayu is in those complicated situation and quarreling situation...

seriously, what is with this fighting and quarreling thing with Maro? is she trying to hint something??? that is exactly what's in my mind when i watched those three pvs...

totally ==______==""""

and sweet scar is beautiful but totally boring!!! i'm crying not becoz its beautiful, it just bores mi!! i'm sure ayu can do so much more better than this right??

overall i'm extremely disappointed with the PVs .. not the songs...

AYUCREA 9th December 2012 06:19 AM

Honestly I don't like the concept of Wake me up and snowy kiss..
I love these songs! but PVs waste the songs...

Sweet scar is simple and imo this pv is the best out of three

And I'm surprised people are trying to figure out the triology storyline:

Ayu was dating the model, Maro was a friend
The guy ignored Ayu, Maro was nice to her, she dumps him and be with Maro
They are all lovey dovey, but it doesn't last long
They break up and Ayu is alone.
The end.

Yeah, it really wasn't complicated at all. And yeah, I wonder just how much that might be mirroring reality?

I believe Ayu is slowly killing her idol image little by little since Five... Actually, I remebering posting that IMO the album was an open letter to her fanbase anouncing that things were going to change.

As a consequence, her latest releases are anything but safe... Party queen is at some points far darker and more personal than her past albums... She is openly supporting minorities now (and not only gays) and lately she is having a far more "human" image, instead of the jpop diva we are used to.

I don't think the triology has anything to do with her personal life TBH... It for sure is something that goes totally against her usual image... Both for being way too natural and way more agressive on a relatable way than what people expect from her. And maybe this was actually planned during the same state of mind the actual AT12 was, and that's why it portray a failed relationship.

With all of this in mind, it's actually beliveable that she hasn't planned to announce her relationship with Maro... Cuz it's not like again is saying they are a couple... they are most portraying a failed relationship on the project.

And I believe she used Maro on both the videos and the photos because he both has a more common look than Shuya and because as a couple, they have multual trust and chemistry to work though both the romantic and agressive scenes.

Luvia 9th December 2012 12:08 PM

true, i agree with the fact that she use Maro for such PVs as they are couple...

seriously, i feel whether she wants to kill her idol image little by little or what.. i still feel her releases shouldn't be just on such storyline... it's kinda draggy... especially when the releases are almost close to each other...

human image or queen diva image... definitely there are more aspects or perspectives than these... =\

jewelbox 9th December 2012 01:26 PM

I'm kinda disappointed by these PVs.. They're nothing special. not bad, but not amazing either..

YUKARI 9th December 2012 03:25 PM

PVs are generally OK, they're just not that I want to see now. btw the trilogy would look much much much better if it was the soundtrack to the movie.

gogirlanime 9th December 2012 08:11 PM

I think sometimes as fans we over-read some of these things. It is true that Ayu sends messages to her fans through her videos but often she isn't sending a direct message, we will never know if what is in her PVs is actually happening we can only guess with opinions. From my personal experience and opinion Ayu mixes truth and fiction, most of her PVs portray some truth and some fiction. As for snowy kiss, maybe she had a violent fight with a partner in the past but maybe it's not Mario. Maybe Ayu has gone through domestic violence or maybe she hasn't. One thing is for sure there are plenty of musicians that have exposed their personal life much more through their music and like Ayu's fans they respect these musicians for their honest opinions, we like them because they expose their life in artistic form. Chihiro Onitsuka is/was clinically depressed (really bad) and she tried to commit suicide and had domestic violence and a dark past, she sings openly about it and thats why her fans love her. Ayu sings in two different ways she either sings/acts about her personal life metaphorically or literally (No Way to Say PV / Microphone PV/song) or she sings/acts about universal issues or subjects (snowy kiss PV / Lady Dynamite PV)

As for ruining her image, Ayu doesn't care and yet she does. She does as she pleases and listens to her fans. Every move she makes is thought out well and she hopes her fans will follow only when we stop being her fan will she either stop singing or change what she is doing. As long as Ayu does what she thinks is best and what we would like, we will like it and from the looks of it we still do. Will she satisfy everyone every time? No, that's impossible.

On the issue of what I think of the PVs I can't stop watching snowy kiss it maybe simple, violent and sad but it is very intense and it's a PV I think that was long due for Ayu. I like this "real person" direction Ayu is doing it's more personal to each fan and it's much more relatable in subject and video. I haven't gone through domestic violence (and I hope I never do) but the PV was very well directed (I think) and fits the song well. Whenever the slow motion fight scenes come I think of two eagles fighting each other (especially when the feathers start to come out of the pillow) it's really emotional and you can feel the anger through the song and video combined, my favorite Ayu PV since BRILLANTE (although how beautiful you are was wonderful too)

TeamAyu2004 9th December 2012 08:26 PM

its kinda funny, because I was the one going around not thinking they will be any good because, well, its ayumi hamasaki and I have come to expect bad things from her videos... but these are...
just...
I'm happy with them.
:yes

pimenta 9th December 2012 08:47 PM

I like the 3 pvs.

Sweet Scar is amazing imo, she's stunning and the pv is so meaningful, I love it :heart

As for the other two, I actually like them, not her best pvs, but they make a lot more sense than Love songs triology for me.

I don't get why being so mad about Maro in them. When You & Me came out no one cared about Maro in it (actually, I remember a lot of people saying it was one of her best pvs back then), but now that people know they are actually dating it suddenly became a bad thing to use him in the pvs? Well, considering these are connected to You & Me, it only makes sense to continue using him in them...

But, I also hope she won't release these kind of triologies anymore... Actually, it would be great if she could just stop working with Masashi Muto for a while imo.

Chibi-Chan 9th December 2012 09:57 PM

I really like "Sweet Scar", but I can't stand the other two.

jennjenn2010 10th December 2012 02:59 AM

Snowy kiss: Honestly the song is not my fave song from her, but it is still pretty good, the pv lets us see a different side of her although again is not my fave from her it is a nice piece to the story.

Wake me up: Has to be one of my fave songs now I am so addicted to this song absolutely love it. The pv although many of you seem to hate it. I actally like it. It lets us see a more fun and casual side to Ayumi, like what she might be like as Ayumi Hamasaki and not just Ayu the artist. a more personal side to her. Its nice to see her just having fun and what not. And it helps that the song is epic!

Sweet scar: The song is pretty but I doubt I'll ever listen to it without watching the pv. The pv itself is artistic and all but honestly very boring.

JackieRos 11th December 2012 12:42 AM

hate them! the only one I like is snowy kiss because I love the song alot.
