it could be a point to measure will it work...

It did better on the second day than on the first, I think due to word of mouth. There was no promotion in that area or around LA.

Honestly, with the overseas TeamAyu and mu-mo shops available cuz of Tenso, they're probably looking at the metrics of that, and it's clear that a tour outside Japan would simply not be profitable.

It upsets me cuz as a TA member I don't feel I'm getting my money's worth without her having concerts around here. Too many benefits like "at-the-concert-venue-only" lotteries & giveaways, and early ticket sales for TA members, that we in the USA don't get to take advantage of. :(

Until avex is convinced an ayu concert here would be profitable, they won't do it. And it would NOT be profitable. Ayu's just not relevant enough. Not enough fans have proven they'd spend the money.

I agree :yes

I don't see why Ayu - or Japanese pop in general - is really relevant outside of Japan (including Korea, excluding China/Taiwan)...

but USA isn't "world" don't forget that.

LOL People from the US usually think they're the world :rolleyes

I saw Kaya in Mexico City in 2010 I think, it was in a small part of a venue, (I loved his performance, and he sang 27 songs I remember).

Many Japanese artist have been here, but not the ones I want to see :grumpy ,even last year Junsu from JYJ were here!

Many Asian artist come to Latin America, maybe is easier for them to come here than to the US.

It would be a dream came true to watch ayu performing live here :love

Unfortunately, her tours are so large-scale, Avex probably doesn't want to risk losing money by placing her in places like the O2 (London) or the Madison Square Garden (NYC).

Honestly, though, I bet she could fill up the O2 and MSG, but if those were the only shows in Europe/America. Like when fans flock from around the USA travel to NYC/LA, or fan flock from Europe to London/Paris, they would do the same if these were her only performances. I know I would!! But again, Avex probably doesn't want to risk it.

well i don't thin they're stupid, she could do a light acoustic live that would be perfectly enough. I honestly even if i like her pompastic shows i prefare the more intimate atmosphare. I loved it with GACKT. I mean none distracts anyone, and artist can forcus on their singing more.

I totally think she could fill up 2-4 gigs in USA (2 or 1) & Europe (2 or 1).

Anywhere she goes in North America, I would go. I don't care how much I will spend to see her... I will see her front row if she ever tour here. Haha.

^ I second this! At this point though, I just want tour dates.

alternarist 13th January 2013 01:37 AM

i dont think it will happen... i mean if ASIA TOUR is just within Taipei, Shanghai and Hong Kong, WORLD TOUR could just be Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong and LA.

chu-lips 14th January 2013 11:37 AM

she release a pv in YouTube with different subs
may be it was a hints

^ it HAS to mean something, I think.
Maybe they're finally understanding the fact that there are English fans.
Enough for a small gig

Hell, megumi ogata came here for FanExpo2010. Well, not for the expo, but she was here on the Saturday. And she ain't no jpop singer, when compared to ayu. She's just a seiyuu known for yukito and Sailor YourAnus. But megumi SOLD OUT. There's hope for that small ayu gig.
