Just my random thought but, am I the only one who thinks that the BEST~second session~ ''best of'' album should not be titled as such? I mean, the album is literally made up of new materials..yes, including the 12 singles songs.. I don't know.. just saying..

thank you! the lyrics are so cheesy :D

"alright"? :eviltongu It had a better composition and arrangement compared to her many ballads imo. example, Ai no uta, stay with me etc.. those were super boring.

I also love the video.. the imagery and this hint of darkness in it. not to mention she looks so good with red lipstick

I think at that time she was around her peak and Japan eats "BEST"s so what better way to sell her then? ;)

I mean, most Japanese artists considered simple single compilations as best albums, especially for Kuu's case. All 3 of her best albums are basically single compilations. :laugh But at the same time, it's just marketed as such so the public would eat it up.

Cheesy lyrics are Kuu's specialty :laugh

I feel like I'm the only Kuu fan who actually loves Ai no Uta lol. It may be flawed but I just love it so much :laugh I just feel that Koishikute is a good attempt but still not up there as an amazing ballad. It's no Unmei or Yume no Uta (These 2 are absolute GEMS to me). The B-side on the single was so much better, even if it's just a cover. Alone is my go-to Kuu ballad nowadays.

Talking on BEST's, do you guys think they'll add the UNIVERSE singles to the next compilation? Taking it strictly down "to the rules", third universe covered only Black Cherry, Kingdom and TRICK eras, so UNIVERSE is wasn't still included in a compilation. otoh, it was paired with the BEST, so technically it was included in a BEST.

I'm saying so cause maze made me wonder how many tracks we've got for the next BEST, and if they choose the tracks like they usually do with Kuu, we'd have:

1. Lollipop
2. Suki de, suki de, suki de.
3. Anata dake ga
4. POP DIVA
5. Poppin' love cocktail
6. IN THE AIR
7. V.I.P.
8. KO-SO-KO-SO
9. Ai wo tomenaide
10. Love Me Back
11. Go to the top
12. Koishikute
13. LALALALALA
14. TOUCH DOWN
15. Dreaming Now!

If we include UNIVERSE tracks, we have:
16. It's all Love!
17. Lick me
18. ECSTASY
19. Alive
20. Physical thing
21. Can We Go Back
22. Hashire! (?)

Without UNIVERSE, we could have an okay amount of tracks for a compilation, maybe even with two or three new more songs, from further singles or simply new material. Adding UNIVERSE, however, would make a bit of mess with the number of tracks, but then having new singles, and knowing it's Kuu, we could have something like 8~10 new tracks for the BEST, and it'd be another 2CD set pretty much like first things were.

Of course we can't predict what they're gonna do, but I can already see that if a BEST covering songs from Dejavu until Bon Voyage would totally be a must-have :heart

I like Ai no Uta. I didn't at first, but as her ballads got cheesier I started to appreciate it more.

KODA KUMI BEST ~fourth Dimension~ :P

SKYia 16th March 2014 09:12 AM

I wonder why there's no pamphlet on yesasia? They usually sell it, now they only have Tshirts, towels, sticker and plate... ?

jiarongisme 16th March 2014 09:19 AM

^ I know! I wanted to get it along with the posters :(

Regarding the best album talk, I think they might be holding out for a bit more so that it would be like BEST ~first things~, 2CDs and all.

Darkifrit 16th March 2014 10:00 AM

Maybe her next best album will be a compilation from her debut until now.
Anyway, i don't see it selling as well as BEST ~third universe~ which was a sucess imo since she managed to slow down the album sales' drop with that release.

About Ai no Uta, i liked it at its release (even if i thought Yume no Uta was 100 times better) but i became really tired of it when she started to overperform it.
Imo it is one of her most soulless ballad. Pretty much all her singles ballads have more soul than this song.

I'm curious to know if she switch Someday with another hit in the last shows.
I wonder also with which song she interacts with the public this year. What do you think ?

i knew it, Lax5 so meaningful for her she won't drop it! i hate that song at first but then i love after she performed at JPN tour.

KuuXAyu-fan 16th March 2014 08:02 PM

2 キューティーハニー
2 Someday
2 LALALALALA
2 WIND

I'm noticing the encore songs so far are pretty big songs. I think they'll record each of these encores and then either spread them out across releases or include them all in the best album DVD.

marty 16th March 2014 09:04 PM

YAH, 15 ANNIVERSARY!!! :heart
And all the speculations, yes, I love this! Give me a 15 single project!

Minttulatte 16th March 2014 09:34 PM

Okay, Kuu will show everyone how anniversaries are really celebrated again then. That's awesome. <3

And Ai no Uta is gorgeous. I really love that song. <3

do it again 17th March 2014 12:12 AM

32 consecutive singles cus she's turning 32 in November

Also yume no uta slays ai no uta I love how dramatic it is

kaled kalil 17th March 2014 01:34 AM

Yeah, Yume no uta is way better than Ai no Uta. Not only the song but also the PV (even that I absolutely adore the scene with those crystal drops or whatever on Ai no Uta).

I saw a review saying that XXX is the song with people from the crowd, but I'm not so sure about that.

All these songs being performed and the 15th anniversary getting close, I can see a second DVD for the tour with footage of most of those random songs.

NintendoHTF1242 17th March 2014 01:48 AM

Futari de... > Yume no Uta > Ai no Uta

let's be very serious mmhm

Ai no Uta had the better covers though. Those teardrops and all the blue colors ugh Kuu you're slaying me

I agree, I usually think of second session as an original album. The songs might have been released in singles before, but since none were in previous albums and were all released in only a 3 months period, for me it doesn't feel like a best album...
