Wow! I had completely forgotten this contest!
I imagine the joy of the fans who have won! (and the difficulty to keep this secret =D)

thanks a lot for the information !

when it was announced I thought it will be like Sunrise
to tell the truth I can't hear background vocals...

I wonder if it was one of the songs from her 'Vault', the songs she creates and didn't use on a album, maybe it didn't feel like it would fit with colours so it got put aside for a little bit. She has occasionally refers to unreleased songs she's done in the past, and its not uncommon for big artist's to have a collection of unreleased songs

Wow I can't imagine the tension they got when recording. I wonder if Ayu saw them recording too. Ugh so lucky!
Thingking about how much will they paid and how many percent royalties they get lol

Originally the song was supposed to release in 2013.

lucky TA members! but unable to hear their voices though. but nothing can beat their precious experience to record an ayu's song.

kendelle 8th April 2015 10:29 AM

wow I wonder why they didn't advertise it a bit more? I'm glad their input finally sees the light of day though :) Wouldn't it be awesome if she had the two participants come and actually sing the song in the final or something? :D

I can't help but coming up with a conversation like this in my mind:

ayu: It's so nice to release this album at my 17th anniversary. It's been so long since I last celebrated my debut...
Staff: It's not been that much time tho
ayu: Of course it has, 2008 was eons ago
Staff: Well, there was your 15th back in 2013
ayu: My 15th?
Staff: Yeah, remember you released a special song called Tell All but never included it in your albums?
ayu: I did?
Staff: And there was that song which two lottery winners would sing the background vocals also
ayu: Wait, what?
Staff: So yeah, there were plenty of things back then
ayu: A song that didn't make to the album and fans to sing in a song... Well, I wonder if it's too late, but I've got some ideas...

And ta-daa here we are

It may have taken 2 years but at least it was done! I'm so amazed, those fans have an amazing legacy.

AyUmIXx 8th April 2015 04:18 PM

wow i just realized that it was a project from 2 years ago? i thought it was just last year, lol.. avex n ayu sure took a long time.. but it felt so fast too..

This is the twitter of the second winner, "kocchi kocchi mai"/ Mai Ishiguro... She'd occasionally posted updates like "I still haven't heard anything about recording" and then in mid-january she tweets about "the moment I've waited for for almost 2 years is finally here, I'm so nervous!" ...Of course she tweeted a photo of her credit in the album booklet as well, hehe :) She's very cute about it! https://twitter.com/mai_19890707

That's so awesome! So lucky to be a part of such an amazing song.

Finally... I hope they met ayu because as regards the song you can't really say it was worth it.

lastminute 8th April 2015 09:00 PM

I guess their voices were heavily edited or something because you can't really tell there are other people singing besides ayu. Also, they were background vocals so, it isn't supposed to stand out, really.
Anyway, the mere fact of being credited as background vocals on an ayu songs is beyond amazing. I really hope they got to meet her!!

Also, I guess avex made them sign a confidentiality agreement, it must have been so hard to keep The Show Must Go On a secret for what, 3 months?
