Gosh, I might have overstated about Sungmo. Which means...

YAY! Ayu might have a chance for #1!!!

We've got some work to do here. But if Ayu can stay very consistent ahead of Sungmo throughout the week, she's going to get another #1 to her collection. Could be her first one since 2013 (!!!) - and this could be her greatest chance!

In all, Avex scheduled it at the right time. It's the start of a month that is going to be filled with releases to watch for - SKE48, miwa, Leo Ieir, AKB48, Rina Katahira for me - looks like a good start for Ayu right now.

Let's cross our fingers and see if she can stay consistent, outduel Sungmo and hold off Dreams Come True, since I still consider DCT a possible threat...

So happy for her. It'd be crazy if this album brings about some kind of huge comeback for her..

It will if she keeps the quality and image up! This release feels like a proper Ayu one, i.e. one I would have liked back in 2005. Her summer works always tended to be most magical! Good for her; she did the work and got recognition!

I highly doubt Sungmo will debut at #1. He's Korean, and his release is a debut mini.

That said, his sales will drop to nothing by the end of the week, so I don't expect him to top 25k first week, 30-35k overall.

Ayumi, I was a bit off with A ONE, but I'm going to shoot for sales in the 40k range, and my bet is on first week sales just over 25k.

No, I just want to see if Ayu can still get a #1 weekly album. After all, she used to top all charts with almost every release back in the day. :)

It seems Japanese still love her so-called "old music style" more, or it's just because of the better promotion from avex this time. Either way, i really hope the sales won't drop too much in the following days. And ayu said thank you in her twitter. Can tell she is thrilled to be back to #1 again!

Don't have any idea who Sungmo is but JUHNO from 2PM recently released his album and sold 52k

You're right. 90% of his sales are in the first week. But I think he's on the rather odd side of successful Korean solo artists in Japan. His sales aren't the norm.

I guess we will have to see. As bad as this sounds, I don't think a Korean artist with zero longevity should beat out the Empress of J-Pop, but that's a personal preference. I hope Ayu has a #1 with sixxxxxx. I think she deserves it for at least one release this year.
