Right now I still think it's a bit annoying with this damn long collage with videos in between. xD

The special page for the new album is much more interesting.

This album is completely slaying me tbh omg. Cosmic Explorer, Miracle Worker, Next Stage with YOU and the Cling Cling album mix are FIRE.

^ thank you ^^

The album track sounds extremely awesome, like seriously, Miracle Worker is the best track from the album, I can't wait to know how they will perform this song in their concert. The album flows really great, I remember I was quite disappointed by Level 3, but definitely not this one. It even has some dreamy pop vibes, which I really enjoy.

Not too fond of yasutaka's album mix in every album though, but I really like the vibes in this album, especially sweet refrain.

The album is really boring. Nothing stood out to me at all. It's less electro and more EDM-based, no? It sound immature compared to the last album, or at least in comparison to the tracks I enjoyed the most (1mm and Clockwork).

~kashifaita~ 5th April 2016 02:35 AM

^^^ I personally think it's a step up from LEVEL3 because of it's cohesiveness and I actually think it sounds more mature compared to their usual sound. I especially like how, despite it being EDM based, it doesn't depart from being 'Perfume.' But to each their own I guess haha. Overall, as an album imo, it's a slight up from LEVEL3, and almost on the same level as GAME. It's impressive how Nakata manages to bring the sounds together rather than make it another JPN pt. 2, aka singles collection. Maybe he was listening to our complaints about how all over the place this era was lol.

My only complaint is TOKIMEKI LIGHTS....how in heck is it different from the original lmao.

danielquasar 5th April 2016 06:38 AM

I personally see LEVEL3 and COSMIC EXPLORER as different. They are just to far apart for me to compare. I like them both for different reasons. CE is AWESOME though. The title track SLAYED me from the instant I heard it. Such a great opener!

TOKIMEKI LIGHTS is longer, and the mixed has been shifted around a bunch in different places. Otherwise, it's not anything new like Cling Cling, or Sweet Refrain.

thanks for the links:yes

I don't know if it's a step-up or down but i know this album is super fun and makes me want to jump/dance flail in all possible directions xD Cool catchy tunes. Cosmic explorer (song) has great old-school epic sound, i love it.

Bigtop 7th April 2016 12:38 AM

#1 in Oricon - but only 60,858 copies...anything to be concerned about? For sure they're going to get #1 (#2, FTISLAND, only has 16,648), but what about sales numbers?

Isicio 7th April 2016 02:26 PM

60,858 copies are a lot of copies o.O

oaristos 7th April 2016 04:36 PM

Those numbers are actually pretty good, but COSMIC EXPLORER sold more than 100,000 copies less than the previous album though (165,748 copies sold in the first week).
I'm glad they got #1, but I didn't find the album very attractive. The only song that stands out for me is Pick Me Up. Story also sounds interesting, but that's all.

Isicio 7th April 2016 05:11 PM

^you are right, I miss perfume hit songs.

Corvina 7th April 2016 07:53 PM

I love the album. This new mix of (japanese) electro and EDM works really well for me, I find it more appealing than their earlier stuff. I only was a casual listener up until last year, but this album is awesome and if they continue this sound, they've won a fan more!
