I don't think it's that she can't dance, i think it's more that she just doesn't. There's really no need for her to. I'm sure if she danced more she'd be a lot better at it.

Because she took ballet doesn't mean she can do it well. She's not so bad a dancer in general, but I still stick to whatever it was she was doing with her legs around the time of Greatful Days was, in a word, emberessing.

Ayu shouldn't worry about dancing. Dancing takes away from singing- and she needs to work on her singing live as much as possible. :laugh

Why does everyone say she can't dance? She clearly has dancing capabilities. Someone who "can't dance" is someone trying to dance and looking horrible. Besides, most of her stuff is really simple so the crowd can play along.

why do ppl have to defend her so much about her dancing abilities. ayu is not a godess who is perfect! so she has taken ballet lessons. does she dance ballet style? no.

I love Ayu's "groove dance" thing that she does in Concert Tour 2000. She kind of hunches down and grooves a little while she sings. It's so cute! I miss seeing that.

But I think ultimately, Ayu is not like Namie - a singer/dancer act. Her songs don't really have any dance sequences like Namie's. I think Ayu can dance if she needs too - she does the Real Me dance very well, but her dancing is more audience motivated. She wants the audience to be able to become involved and dance with her.
