Yeah, I thought the model looked better...the dress was probably made specially for ayu, since she's short...and by the way, models are supposed to look like that on the cat walk

Agree agree... many dresses from the runway don't look good on celebrities because of their height.... but that model is scary. looking.

that's really interesting to see that dress actually being worn in another place.... i didn't think anyone would want to wear that dress....
I only thought ayu wore it for artistic purposes...
weird.
though i do think she looks better in that dress than the model

kournikova 7th March 2004 08:19 AM

omg... me prefer the ayu one... :) but if ayu want to wear that i think ayu should wear a high heel shoes heuheuhe :) its nicer for people who is tall to wear that :)

I personally think Ayu should have worn the gold/silver one in the background since it matches the gold theme used for her album cover.:think

Larisa-chan 8th March 2004 01:26 AM

^ yeah, I noticed the gold one too!! The green was just out of place x.x

haha and models are suppose to look scary.. they're supposed to glare o.o

Coelacanth 8th March 2004 01:37 AM

yeah... but that model ugly.

//hikari 8th March 2004 11:24 PM

My mother said the dress looks skanky on the model and more classic on Ayu lol

mint-tea 8th March 2004 11:31 PM

i wonder how much it cost! lol...cough...dolce...

//hikari 8th March 2004 11:46 PM

I was going to buy a sweater from them ... it was roughly $400.00 ... but then it went out of season lol ... sooooo I'm guessing that dress is way up there :P

All of the other models in the article had the "Barbie smile" and looked fairly normal. It's funny because whenever the Italian fashion show takes place (which is really the only reason I look in the magazine each month just to see the crazy new fashions) there is usually a dark-skinned model with a shaved head. Yes, shaved head, and she would always wear the craziest outfit of the show while everyone else would wear decent outfits. I'm a little shocked that she didn't wear the green outfit since she's very tall and her upper body would have fit into it almost like Ayu did.

I'm fairly certain that Ayu picked up the dress right as it was available for purchase from the designer. In Japan designer labels are a BIG thing among women, definitely moreso than here.

The color looked better on Ayu due to her honeyed asian skin undertone to mesh with the green, but the overall cut of it doesn't suit her in the least. It dwarfs her and makes her look shorter than she is (5'1", doesn't have much height in the first place =P). The skirt especially doesn't help since Ayu is decently proportioned, that skirt is tailored to look better on someone who's leggy like the model. Ayu's also is wearing the skirt higher.

However, the model does not have a pinched waistline (ie: hourglass shape) and judging from the space between her chest and the cups, she doesn't have the adequate boobage for the dress. Ayu's definitely sporting some bra-insert push-up action in that pic so the chest portion looks fine on her.

Ayu's face looks better since she kept her makeup clean and natural. If the model laid off of the sharply plucked eyebrows and the Egyptian Kohl around her eyes, she may look a bit more attractive as opposed to the "I'll swallow your soul o_o" look she's sporting.

edit: I am severely lacking in zee grammar department.

simply brocolli, but ayu looks tastier >_<

Ayame 15th March 2004 07:57 AM

I never liked that green dress but I agree that Ayu looks better in it than the model. As for strange-looking dresses like this one... who would really wear them outside of photo shoots? What a waste.

starr5245 15th March 2004 11:28 AM

wow, i think ayu looks better in it
