somehow this makes me feel like the writer was more into utada hikaru than ayumi. the writer wrote that ayumi gained her popularity from marketing rather than her lyrics and talents, and that utada hikaru's voice is more explosive than ayumi's. these two statements are so wrong. i don't believe that pure marketing can bring someone THIS MUCH fame, alrite? the person has got to have something that attract people. in this case, ayu's lyrics, music, and style are what draw ppl's attention. as for the statement on utada's "explosive voice," i totally disagree with it as well. utada does NOT have an explosive voice, please. i'm not bashing her. she has a weak voice. ayumi sings far more explosively than utada. well, this writer is a writer; s/he is no musician, so i'm not gonna blame the writer.
