Yay. Can't wait - Love.Angel.Music.Baby was an awesome album... candy and carnivals, eh?

Oh, and:

A: You’re gonna love this record.

DJs: When’s it coming out?

A: I promise you this record gonna hit #1.
I find that hilarious for some reason. HE SAID WHEN IS THE DAMN ALBUM COMING OUT, YOU TWIT?!

I remember hearing Candyland like last year, though. Hope it's not on the album as I've heard. That song sucked.

I heard Orange County Girl too but the live version and I didn't like it. I'm sure the studio version will blow me away though. Yep, album's out December 4/5 as stated in wiki together with a list of songs produced. I can't wait for Wind It Up, the supposed single cover looks real pretty.

Yay new album. Boo for Akon, though. His voice bugs the **** out of me.

From what I understand, he's normally very sucky. However, all I've heard him on so far is india.arie's I Am Not My Hair, which is an amazing song, and I thought he sounded great on there (although maybe that was because india's amazing and she made him better? I dunno), so... we'll see.

Mad_Cactuar 21st October 2006 09:04 AM

Akon's biggest hit "Mr Lonely" is the worst crap you will ever listen.

I should listen to that India.Arie song..

Watch Out Fergie!!

You can't beat the real thing.

The original is back!!!

Interscope has finally confirmed that Gwen Stefani is indeed releasing a new album this year and they reveal the name and release date.

The new mom's The Sweet Escape will be released on December 5th.

Her first single, Wind it Up is a Sound of Music meets hip hop track produced by Pharrell Williams, who also worked with Gwen on her massively successful Hollaback Girl track.

The song is expected to premiere on radio this coming week and a video is currently being shot in LA with choreographer Sho-Time.

In addition to Pharrell, Miss Stefani also worked with such collaborators as Akon, Nelle Hooper and Tim Rice-Oxley of Keane.

Of her new album, Gwen says, "This is definitely another dance record but the sound has evolved a lot over the last two years as I've gone in and out of the studio. It's more melodic and very modern."

Zexy!!!

Wind It Up was in Ukraine or something around April/May this year. Strange eh? I actually voted for that song to appear.

Maybe someone can merge the other Gwen threads with this one?

Summing it up:

Love Wind It Up and the video - very cool and fun.

HATE the album cover. What the hell is with her shoulder? Everyone's using that blue background! Her, Ciara, Loreena McKennitt... okay, just those three (although Ciara's cover was cool and Loreena's was awesome).

Saw her perform Wind It Up live on some UK show (found it on YouTube).

Holy mother, SHE SUCKS LIVE.

Bump! The album leaked, folks. I just downloaded and am currently listening. It's fun to try and find if you know where and where not to look.

Now, I haven't gotten past Wind It Up yet, but... I'm expecting and hoping for good things. I'll post back later with impressions.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 21st November 2006 04:41 AM

It leaked a while ago and Wind it up is certainly not the best song on the album, there are many other better one's

'Wonderful Life', 'Flourescent', 'Early Winter', 'Breakin' Up' and 'Don't Get It Twisted' = Awesome just like popjustice said.

explodingbird 21st November 2006 04:45 AM

I'm on Orange County Girl, which is okay so far. The Sweet Escape was barely decent. Akon needs to shut the hell UP. He was so great on india.arie's I Am Not My Hair, then... this. WOOOOHOOOO. YEEEEEEEHOOOOOO! STFU Akon.

Echoed_Memories 21st November 2006 04:45 AM

I just heard 'Wind It Up', & it's so addicting!

I didn't think I would like it ; I actually thought it was too eccentric for my tastes, but I ended up loving it!! :luv2

explodingbird 21st November 2006 05:07 AM

I'm torn between love and hate on Yummy, and the version of 4 in the Morning I have is a bit fuzzy but it does sound cool. Same for Early Winter.

BUT HOLY CRAP. I think Fluorescent = love, at least right now. Reminds me of Serious + Crash. Very Kylie Minogue/80's pop. AWESOME.

So far the album is very... wavery. Good, middling, and bad. And some very good. I dunno. I hope it all grows on me in the end. Except the title track - ew. But oh, man, Fluorescent is amazing. Next single. Seriously. Now.

what is this about? why so rude?

explodingbird 21st November 2006 08:48 AM

Hmm. Yummy sounds a LOT like ]Milkshake.

And some songs give me a bit of a headache, though that may be because I'm sick. But it is a noisy album, god.

Mad_Cactuar 25th November 2006 04:45 AM

This album has a lot of cohesion and the music matches the cover and art I say, just like L.A.M.B which is impressive.

I like this album a lot, but it kinda dissapointed me because all the songs weren't very varied, unlike L.A.M.B's. L.A.M.B is still a feat for me, it was a bunch of very different songs but they all fitted the CD so well.

Wonderful Life, Yummy, Fluorescent = <3

theprojectzero 25th November 2006 09:01 AM

Lovely! Can't wait! Can't wait!

Gwen gunna kick Fergie is true! That's official! ;) Hehe...
