Well, I love her regardless, she has the voice of a generation!

Kaiouforever 3rd April 2008 09:08 AM

Anyone wanna post their favorite song by her? My favorite is (as cheesy as it is) Anata ni aitakute...I remember that song was so freakin' big, I had it on repeat for weeks. o_O

austin. ♥ 8th April 2008 09:58 PM

I haven't really a favourite song, but both bless you and Baby's breath are really nice.

Kaiouforever 25th May 2008 06:26 PM

Those are so new...what about her classics from the 80s?! <3

BTW, her new album came out on the 21st, anyone listen to it?

bulmasman 25th May 2008 06:53 PM

:o i didn't know seiko had a new album out :o

Although it was mentioned previously in this thread, i really do love Natsu no Tobira ^^ It has to be one of my all time favourite Jpop songs infact ^^

Kouhaku performance if i'm not mistaken.

I saw her perfom this on an episode of The Best 10 that i downloaded quite some time back ^^. She's so cute and has such a great voice.

Also, although it's just UBER cheese, her song "The Right Combination" with Donnie Wahlberg is just so awesome!

80's Jpop idol's make the world go round :D

Kaiouforever 25th May 2008 07:03 PM

Natsu no tobira is SUCH a classic <33 one of my favorites.

I don't think her new album, "My pure melody" was uploaded here, maybe I should put it up in the downloads section.

WillofDusk 26th May 2008 01:47 PM

Hmm I think ppl got it all wrong
Altho I havent heard much from her, shes actually the queen of Jpop before the time Of Ayu. And she really was the queen.
She should have had great potential a talent to keep up her popularity until now and to release such massive discography.

austin. ♥ 26th May 2008 11:10 PM

I don't really like My pure melody as much as her past two albums, but it's still really nice. :)

Kaiouforever 23rd October 2008 01:57 AM

New single by Seiko is out this week (10/22), here's the single information (there are 2 formats)

Regular Version:
1 あの輝いた季節 [Ano kagayaita kisetsu]
2 いつまでもこの胸の中に [Itsumademo kono mune no naka ni]
3 あの輝いた季節(Backing Track)
4 いつまでもこの胸の中に(Backing Track)

First Press:
Comes with the PV, as well as a sticker

First day, it debuted at #19 on the dailies! Let's hope she can have a top 20, but we'll see. =] I'm also going to try to find details on her single before this (Love is all), which I forgot to post about...

Kaiouforever 30th October 2008 05:18 AM

あの輝いた季節 sales:

Week 1: #30, 4,852 sold

Zemus 8th November 2008 07:29 PM

Aaah, there was a Seiko thread here after all! :) I've got to say that I'm an incredible big fan of hers. I absolutely adore her voice! :luv2

I've got quite an impressive collection of Seiko files (concerts, drama, movies, performances, full episodes of various TV shows etc...) and many of her older albums. I even have her latest "My pure melody" concert tour on DVD now. The following albums from the 80s are missing for me still though:

Sound Of My Heart (1985)
The 9th Wave (1985)
Tinker Bell (1984)

Does anyone have them? I mean I'd love to trade! Also, me and my friend are searching for the おとなの選択 (Otona no Sentaku) 1992 TBS drama. But I doubt anyone here can help us with that...

Great it might end up outselling "Love is all", but only barely.

I hope that her appearance on HEY!HEY!HEY! can help the sales (2008/11/10).

EDIT

New SEIKO CM released today. Check it out:

Kaiouforever 8th November 2008 07:46 PM

I don't have much of her stuff, it's awfully hard to find. All I have are her recent albums. If I run across any of her older albums (particularly those) I will definitely share. =]

I hope the new single can outsell Love is all...it would be nice to see her have a little increase in sales!

Hey, thanks for your kindness. Good news though, since the last post I put a lot of effort into collecting missing Seiko music, done a lot of trading on the Japanese p2p networks etc... And now finally, I've managed to get my hands on nearly her full album discography. Including the three I mentioned about above. :) As things stand now it looks like that I am only missing seven tracks from her 1990-2008 albums (unless I missed something). If you ever need something then put up a request here and I will see what I can do! ;)

Wow, that's amazing! We should create a Seiko download thread. =] Her music is so epic!

Zemus 23rd December 2008 06:51 PM

Here is a new Seiko & Sayaka CM for "Mamma Mia!" movie (Japan release):
http://mamma-mia-movie.jp/special/

Cool to see Sayaka for a change too, she hasn't been that active lately.

I wonder if Seiko will release a album or single soon. She has usually been releasing one around April - June during the last few years. I wouldn't mind if this pattern continued! :)

rookies 27th January 2009 04:00 AM

Wow, this thread seems a bit dead. o_O....

I wonder what her fanbase is like now. Do the people who followed her music career in the 80's/90's still listen to her music, and like her??

Kaiouforever 27th January 2009 07:19 AM

I think she still has a strong base, even if her sales aren't THAT great, she is still well known, and people go to see her. She is a legend, after all =] And I still see her on TV shows performing, she is well respected

rookies 27th January 2009 07:22 AM

^ I feel kinda sad thinking that Ayumi will one day be like Seiko, where her popularity will be less, and there will be another J-pop Queen.

Guess we should cherish and hold onto the moments now as much as we can! Ayumi won't be Queen forever. T__T
