ah, finally! but I've soo fallen behind on the group (especially since she said it would be out march of this year XD) but I'm glad their not dead. Has anybody heard the songs on the new single? (Or when its coming out? or if its already been out?) I'm very disoriented on my Evanescence happenings.

spookshow 30th June 2006 03:08 AM

^ no new stuff has been released yet -- i think we'll be hearing some new stuff in end of july/August -- because the album is released in september (if i'm remembering all this correctly)

The closest thing to the new cover is the next image but nothing is for sure.

ooh! thanks for sharing!
where'd you find this pic? It's a bit plain, and it looks kinda like the one i posted with the band in it -- so maybe this is more a promo pic and the official one does contain the band? although its a bit hard to tell with the pic i posted whether it was a new pic of the band or not

i'm loving the extra swirly effect thingo they added to the "evanescence" title

EDIT: looking again at the pic i found, it looks like they may have just chopped the evanescence title and added a pic of the band underneath -- because the swirls of the door pattern are in the same position in both pics.
ah well, i guess we'll eventually find out.

The most sounded titles for the tracks on the new album are:

Call Me When You're Sober (Official First Single)
Good Enough
Weight Of The World (Both confirmed by Amy)
Lithium
Hypocritical (these last two are named on imdb.com)
Angel Of Mine (This song is not know wether it's official or not but it's the only song available to download on fansites all over the net.)

I just heard the release date for the first single may be on August 7th and the PV may be released days before.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to say, the photoshootings are over... the art is done.

IMO they need another tour on DVD and more extras (I enjoyed watching anywhere but home, especially the bloopers and
Spoiler:
when amy dressed up like a gorrila and went on stage to dance around her bf (what's his name) from Seether and when her bf/her band memebers crossdressed for a surprise preformance, that was fun

ayu's muse 7th July 2006 05:56 PM

Does anybody know if they will tour again ? I really want to see them live since i saw the Anywhere But Home DVD so if someone knows anything about it please tell me.

*+Dark.Night.Angel.+* 7th July 2006 07:04 PM

Yes, they will be on tour I believe after the promotion of their second single or something like that... but until October 3rd nothing is to be known, except for the first single coming in three weeks.

Anwhere but home is their second release but it's not a trajectory album.

Anyone knows about the *secret* video?
Spoiler:
On gthe main presentation, if you use the remote control and make the cursor go left, an Evanescence (e) will highlight and you will access a secret video from a performance in Las Vegas.

By the way, for the third album ,some say they have already heard it and have posted in many places the most probable tracklist which coul be as follows:

There's a review of The Open Door in the French magazine "Rock One". According to that article the 13 songs are called:

1. Sweet Sacrifice
2. Call Me When You're Sober
3. Weight Of The World
4. Lithium
5. Cloud Nine
6. Snow White Queen
7. Lacrymosa
8. Like You
9. Love Control
10. The Only One
11. Your Star
12. All That I'm Living For
13. Good Enough

spookshow 11th July 2006 07:04 AM

I found a great website with info on the new album!

http://evanescencetheopendoor.blogspot.com/

here's a review of the tracks on the album from that site:
Quote:

1. Sweet Sacrifice: The listener is enchanted by the universe of Amy Lee from the very first notes, in such a way that it could be classed as the goddess neogothic style (Amy not the track ^^). She gives us the first feelings, through this song that will keep us on it and entertain us for the next Hour. Terry's guitar part flirts with sharps so that Amy's voice follows in the same tonality. With the postulate placed as early as the first beach (meaning this song placed first) gives the feeling that the believed Evanescence of 2006 has a heavier sound and a production a lot less cold than Fallen's

2. CMWYS: The first Single of the album begins with a soulful piano intro (Amy's favourite instrument on which she composed most of the writing of the songs) supported by a great and somewhat produced singing. One would note the samples at the end of the refrain.
AMY: "It's DJ Lethal, a mate of Terry's, work. He did a great job with the samples and I am more than satisfied with it!"
The Large sound of Terry's guitar and LeCompt's arrangements with the Rythmic guitar make it one of the most heavy songs on the Album. The verses of the break "You never call me when you're sober/You only want it cos it's over" probably have something to do with the relationship Amy had with her ex-boyfriend Seether's Shaun Morgan

3. Weight of the World: The guitars begin as early as the intro making Amy's voice blended into murmurs sampled alternatingly with Balsamo's jerky riffs. The singing becomes more and more synthetic when the guitar moves with the electro-acoustic accompaniment. The song is totally different from the previous repertoir of Evanescence.

4. Lithium: The enchanting duo of piano/voice of the first few minutes of the piece make you recall immediatley My Immortal of the previous album. When the bass, the guitar and the drums re-enter the song (we get the image of the MI band version) the Ambiance becomes even more solemn. The voice charged with emotion and gives the listener a sadness similar to that of Origin (the first real Evanescence album.)

5. Cloud Nine: We plunge instantly into a dark movie soundtrack with Amy's murmuring and vocalisation which lull us throughout the whole piece which has a very dark atmosphere. DJ Lethal's samples yet again blend very well with the music.

6. Snow White Queen: The glaucous is still decisive as the drums progressively lean towards a more electronic sound throughout this track. The chorus (You belong to me, my snow white queen) is very effective.

7. Lacrymosa: An orchestra of 22 strings, conducted by Dave Campbell (who had already worked with the band for the re-adaptation of My Immortal at the Billboard Awards ceremony of 2004) opens the song to better introduce a backing choir to Amy's voice.
AMY: "Dave Campbell is an enormous source of inspiration for me. He is very talented. The manner in which he arranges the orchestral parts is simply remarkable. It's the element of our music that makes me want to cry!"
Terry's solo guitar part adds to the environment of the piece before the choir does not close it continuing the descending notes. It was recorded in a chapel in Seattle, this is the second pearl of the CD.

8. Like you: Lethal is ever-present and the guitars are insidious and the voice is mumbly and sad. Then Terry slowly fades away to make it more like a dream. It is a slow, short and very rich title.

9. Lose Control: Another one based on piano, electronic drums, heavy guitars and a trebled voice. It was all made in value by David Fortman
AMY: "Dave understands perfectly our music, as if he's in my head. It is good to work with such a renowned person but if this person does not understand that which you seek and feel your band would end up playing like someone else. Dave always urged me to write and to bridge and to surpass myself."

10. The Only One: The guitar part is remarkable with Terry's nagging guitar. The vocalisations and piano of Amy remind you of those of Missing (An Anywhere but home bonus track). When the seven string guitar is played one is reminded of KoRn (Of whom Evanescence did a cover (thoughtless) in the ABH DVD). The melody of this piece is unstoppable. Definitely the third pearl of this CD.
(This part was not very clear. Some parts I had to get from the previous scan)

11. Your Star: The piano is the prime instrument here even putting up the maturity of the band's music. The choir and strings make their re-appearance here at the end of the track making an epic outro.

12. All That I'm living for: The guitar opens here the taking place of the piano with a very heavy riff. One will notice a reference to the title of the album in the excellent refrain already engraved in our memory after only one listening. This is definitely the 4th Pearl.

13. Good Enough: With the image of a CD relatively dominated by piano, the CD concludes with one of the most intimate piano/voice duo. The strings come to support Amy's voice charged with emotion (Am I good enough for you to love me too?). Longer than five minutes, we will prefer this to Hello from the preceeding album.

also, according to wikipedia and the above site:
Quote:

Amy Lee has confirmed that she wrote a song for the 2005 film version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe released by Disney, but it was rejected by producers due to it being "too dark and epic." However, Amy Lee said it was just more great material for the upcoming album The Open Door.[11] It has also been noted that the song originaly submitted for the Narnia soundtrack has been scrapped, but the intro has been recycled for Good Enough
also, according to evanescencetheopendoor.blogspot.com The Album is more "Rock" and not really metal. Its less heavy than Fallen. -- which is a shame, i love the heavier stuff
