I can't believe such a person still exists. Try google her. She's really popular even in Europe. Like Barbra Streisand popular. And if you are telling me you don't know who Barbra is, I'm going to get a gun and shoot myself.

Back to topic. I'll go with Whitney's version. More power and more sadness.

BTW...Sakura_Genki ... who's that girl in your sig?? She looks pretty.

I don't know who Dolly Parton is either. And I know who Barbra is. I'm voting for Whitney's version thoiugh.

It doesn't suprise me one bit at someone not knowing who Dolly Parton is... Partino, you kind of made it sound like ignorance, which is kind of mean. It's not like she's had a hit in the last decade or two... Barbara too for that matter.

Whitney Houston of course. Such a great emotional and musical build up. I think Dolly even mentioned that she prefers Whitney's version.

I have to agree. Like, I know who Dolly Parton is because I live in America and everyone here knows about her big nose and atrocious boob jobs, but I seriously could not name a single song she has sung. She isn't even close to being on the same level as Whitney, or even Barbra for that matter.

Dolly!
She's so cool! ;D

Dolly Parton. Possible to sing along too. Plus, Whitney just did it for a film. It's Dolly's song so all emotions were real.

I can assure that each of asked by me persons knew who Dolly Parton was and I live in the Poland so... it's not that DP has trendy singles (lol), she'll be definitely known in next five years when most of those pop sweet stars will fade after two months of popularity.
I'm not a fan of Dolly myself, but I remember this song(IWALY) from a performance with Melissa and I like it because of that so... I voted for Dolly :D

I know dolly parton becuase I saw her THS on E!, not because I get to listen to her music here... Country music is not popular at all on this side and we live cross the border. on THS is where I learned she sand "I will alwasy love you" and that was just last year.

no offence, i didn't want to sound mean or even be mean. it just kinda surprised me, cause she had a hit in 2005 When I Get Where I'm Going and Those Were The Days was also a hit album [#9 Country and #35 UK charts] and is still the country icon. sorry if i did say some mean things. it was not my intension to offence somebody.

Dolly Parton is an american country singer-songwriter (she wrote IWALU, btw), and is one of the biggest female country stars on USA, called often "The queen of country music"

Maybe some can know her as "aunt Dolly" from Hanna Montana show :B

Whitney Houston's is better.

ayumi.hamasaki 7th December 2009 02:55 PM

Whitney Houston

happiholic★ 21st December 2009 03:03 AM

WH all the way. That song is amazing. Too bad her voice is gone. I'm not loving her new lives.

JackieRos 21st December 2009 03:09 AM

Mrs. Dolly ooooh
but I picked Whitney

DA1SUK1DAY01691 21st December 2009 03:32 AM

As much as like Whitney, I prefer the simplicity of Dolly's version. That whisper before she goes into the last chorus really puts emotion into the song. :D

VRGRK 27th December 2009 06:42 AM

Dolly parton's version is wonderfull... which is why i voted for her. I will say that Huston's version seems to have stronger vocals to me...

amorphose 27th December 2009 06:47 AM

Whitney Houston

emi♡ 27th December 2009 09:26 AM

I think the strong vocals in Whitney's Version made the song.

I give Dolly total props for making the song and singing it beautifully, but I really think the emotion and power in Whitney's voice, and also the arrangement they made for it, which also exudes so much emotion, really made the song a million times better.

The slight melody changes in Whitney's version also made the song on a whole a lot stronger.

I wish there was like an orchestra version of the song with Whitney.
