Shi = Poem. The character used in the title can be read as either "uta" (song) or "shi" (poem). I suppose we won't know the correct reading until news of the single is released on her site.

And Ayu used to release singles as frequently; this next one will be Mika's 4th this year right? Ayu was the same in 2005--1) step you 2) fairyland 3) heaven 4) bold & delicious. But yeah, I want her to go back to releasing as frequently as well, as long as the quality remains Ayu standard ;)

It's eien no 'uta'. That character's 'default' reading is uta, so unless it is coupled with another character, for instance, 作詩 (sakushi; to write poetry) or if it is explicitly specified, it should be taken to be uta, which is really the norm if you look at many of the song titles with that character in them (DAI's 'shinjitsu no uta', le couple's 'hidamari no uta' etc etc).
