What happened to her taking a break to study?

AyUta 6th February 2008 03:37 AM

She did and it flopped.

I really don't think BoA will do that well because her English isn't up to par, but you never know, Shakira did pretty well with her Laundry Service album and her English back then was questionable and hard to understand at times.

CHE.R.RY 6th February 2008 03:48 AM

^ But Shakira's Columbian(sp?)...For some odd reason, Asians have a really hard time making out into the mainstream music scene. Hispanics, Africans, and Europeans, are just fine but other than that America is pretty close-minded.

Neo Daydream 6th February 2008 03:51 AM

woah! awesome! pave the way for other Asian artists, BoA! ^^

ImpactBreaker 6th February 2008 03:55 AM

OMG, with her recent material she's definitely up for a total humiliating flop in the US :no

UHPlus 6th February 2008 04:07 AM

hope she dun end up like hikki! which i bet she will :P :P

Zeke. 6th February 2008 05:11 AM

OMG, this would be AMAZING! I hope she is well recieved!

truehappiness 6th February 2008 05:12 AM

I'll LOL if she ends up being popular. :O

Or worse,

At least Exodus was a good album

Raleigh 6th February 2008 06:55 AM

Well I have a feeling this US debut will be a flop. Anyway hope her material won't be as mellow as she's been churning out with avex...

ayu_fan929 6th February 2008 07:03 AM

I actually want to see this to happen unlike her supposed Chinese debut. Also,Se7en and Rain have kept on saying they are going to debut soon, but that has never happened.

ayumixfan 6th February 2008 07:06 AM

^ hm I thought rain wasn't even part of JY entertainment anymore =S! Anyways I don't blame him for his debut ending due to what happened at his concert XD! SE7EN i dunno anything about him XD I dunno BoA might debut well =S? I am no sure lol We'll have to wait and see =)!

End1ess_sorr0w 6th February 2008 07:10 AM

well i think after listening to that song "Brave" off the new album "THE FACE" i think she's got the american style of music, but as for her english...someone better work wonders on her or she's gonna do horribly. i like BoA so i'm still gonna think positive. good luck BoA!

They got the source from JoongAng Ilbo. But personally I wouldn't bet the house on this. SM is known for talking big and never doing anything.

Psychotic_X 6th February 2008 07:49 AM

we'll see what excuses they'll use later on in the year which was why her debut was postponed..

maybe a clash with her name... maybe a cancelled world tour...
maybe a single leak...

=D

Lmao. Yeah I'm expecting something on those lines.

I have to agree with you there. It's funny too, because all of my friends seem to like Namie, whether or not they actually like J-Pop in general. Her style is very hip and if it were in English, I'm sure it would be enormously successful here with the right promotion. She would just need to work on her English as well. I've never seen her speak it out of songs like Ayu did in the CNN interview.
