This thread is old but I didnt feel like starting a new thread for this but I just notice that in Curtain Call pv she is barefoot. O_O lol. Has this been discuss before? What do u guys think it means?

zyoeru 26th May 2009 07:12 PM

^ I noticed she was barefoot, I just think it adds to the simplicity of her PV for Curtain call.
I mean...black dress, gelled back hair, minimal make up, just walking. :P
She's also walking how geisha are meant to walk apparently. ^_^

noidea 26th May 2009 09:11 PM

^ I didnt notice the geisha-walking but after watching it again....looks like in memoirs of a geisha xD

Originally, Ayu was wearing a poofy dress, had a flower in her hair and a whole load of crap before she decided to go barefoot and cut off the poofy.

noidea 26th May 2009 09:26 PM

really o.0 I need to watch the making off, i thought she only decided to go barefoot

Picaflor 7/4 26th May 2009 09:34 PM

I knew about the 1-4 metal things in step you. I found that out the first day. thats not minor detail, thats just consistency with the video. >.> I've seen bad and pride pvs once, so I didn't notice anything in them.

Yeah, she couldn't walk in the fluffy dress. It was kinda styled like the "Solo in the Spotlight" Barbie doll from the 60's, where it's a simple form-fitting dress until the very bottom. She told them to cut off the fluffy part of the dress.

Raleigh 26th May 2009 10:07 PM

^ Woah cut it? I'm quite sure that dress was extremely expensive... I'm re-watching the making and I noticed how they removed the poofy part. I think I preferred the poofy style.

truehappiness 26th May 2009 10:13 PM

Well, she was like "We have to change it."

So they started snipping away at it with pen-knives. But hey, it's Ayu's PV.

Keiichi_JPU 26th May 2009 11:25 PM

Thank god they changed the dress in Curtain Call, for some reason I hate the poofy thing, also in PCDL.

Also, I'm sure this is not a minor detail and everyone has been discussing it (I haven't read the entire first page.. sorry :P) but in (Don't) Leave Me Alone, the color of her neck-tie changes with which dancers join her. sometimes it's just black, sometimes with pink or blue or something.

EDIT: yes it's been discussed on the first page :)

I'll post more details here if I notice them :p

really? geisha walking? I need to watch the pv again because I thought I saw her walking fairly normally with her feet pointing outwards instead of being pigeon toed (like soooo many japanese girls walk like). I have no idea how a geisha walks like, but I imagine it's demure and pigeon toed! If I recall correctly, Ayu walked in a line, elegantly but with NORMAL feet stance. Possibly like any other Western woman, or even like a man.

I'm soooo glad she doesn't do that kawaii japanese girl thing... like walking pigeon toed (toes pointed in, like hella pointed in) and wearing (short) heels but walking like you're about to fall, tweedling and twodling.

zyoeru 26th May 2009 11:48 PM

^ I always thought it was elegant and I'm 100% sure she walks with her feet going in front of each other. :P

JackieRos 27th May 2009 01:41 AM

oh ehe this is super obvious and all people know

the billboard in her INSPIRE pv
the name INSPIRE is on it

oh god so obvious ehehhe

rakeru 27th May 2009 02:35 AM

LOL. I meant "pointed in".

...and Ayu doesn't do that. She might walk with a feet in front of the other feet, but that's not what I meant, and that's more like a catwalk kinda walk.

You're talking about this when you say "feet going in front of each other":
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/376...ithcatwalk.jpg

and that's not what pigeon toed means.

I brought up pigeon toed because someone mentioned "geisha walk". I immediately thought of pigeon toed because I thought of the peculiar ways Japanese girls walk (read: "Are Japanese Woman Intentionally Pigeon-Toed?"http://tokyo360.net/?p=74). not sure if that's the way a geisha walks but that's how I imagine! Because Japanese girls walk funny. It's called uchimata (see http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1537194.

Anyway, just watched the pv again, and I don't know where you got geisha. I think it's more like a feminine hobbit. Or, just as she would walk normally, but with a little sass.

Considering the fact that she just chucked the shoes away last minute, I don't think she was thinking "hmm I'm gonna walk like a geisha to express the difficulties of living a double life as a performer and a regular woman!" or something along those lines.

from my memory geishas scuttle and walk all peculiar-like. Ayu is so much cooler than that.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9845/ayuwalk.png

And here's Ayu. Nothing really geisha about it? It's a very modern, western walk. Very strong in appearance and not demure and childlike. And she strides instead of taking small steps (did a tiny research on google on how geishas walk). And I can NEVER imagine a geisha walking with feet pointing outwards like Ayu. In fact, this style of walking is called "8 legs" among the Chinese, (resembling the chinese character for 8), a very masculine, sturdy type of foot stance.

In the beggining of the Endless Sorrow pv 2 men talk with the help of a electronic devise. The camera mores too fast and you cant see what they say to each other however, thanks to the screencaps from eneabba you can see that one of the man says to the other: Be Heard and you will suffer the wrath of the law!
