Ummmm, I was at Blockbuster with my friend last night and this little girl, like 7 years old, started singing "I Kissed A Girl" so freaking loud :lmfao Her mom had this look of horror on her face and she grabbed the girl and told her to never sing that song again :roflmao Then her mom told her to sing "squirrel" instead of "girl."

^ ROFL! Ahhh the innocence of childhood :innocent..

shannon-nonnahs 22nd August 2008 10:45 AM

I love her songs from her latest album, currently addicted to Hot N' Cold!!! (:

dddaiyamondo 22nd August 2008 03:52 PM

I really don't like her songs, but I have been waking up for the past few days with "I Kissed A Girl" stuck in my head and it's really annoying :laugh

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 23rd August 2008 12:38 AM

I think she's okay, but I think she's just a fad.

CHE.R.RY 23rd August 2008 01:35 AM

^ Aww I hope not. I like her music, even though it's a little on the bubblegum side.

Lumix 23rd August 2008 02:46 AM

Woooo, she has like that bestest voice! Really cool and original. On the other hand, the "I kissed a girl" lyrics are awkward to me.. and the PV as well. I don't know, I just really don't like these "trying-to-look-horny/sexy/wanted" celebrities. :no Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.

CHE.R.RY 23rd August 2008 03:05 AM

^ You are definitely not the only one :no. I don't like it either, but as long as the music is good, then I try to look past that stuff.

Katy Perry seems like she just LOVES attention, 24/7. Not to mention the electronic synths from I Kissed A Girl are totally ripped from Sohodolls.

Kaiouforever 23rd August 2008 09:14 AM

Not sure how I feel about the lyrics on some of her songs, but the beats are catchy.

I loved that video, she's got a sort of pin-up look going on that I like. I wish they would play I Kissed A Girl in the bars in town, I want to dance to it so bad! Im tempted to buy her CD, but im going to wait to see another video from her.

I hadn't read all the posts before I posted, but that is freakin' funny! Im going to have to say squirrel from now on!

I heard she dislikes Miley Cyrus,so,I like Katy more.

Bashumaru 25th August 2008 08:15 AM

Oh god, I liked it at first but then the radio stations overplayed it like crazy so now I think its dull

Definitely :laugh

I just found out where Katty Perry got her inspiration for the song o_o
From Scarlett Johanssen. Here's what she said.

I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, 'I'm not going to lie: If Scarlett Johanssen walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you're okay with that?'

Not trashing her or anything, but I hope she isn't giving herself too much credit for I Kissed A Girl. She co-wrote it with three other people.

You do know that when they list names after the song title it's not just lyric writing. They also include the names of people who wrote the music. So technically she could have written all the lyrics while the other names were involved in music.

I do know that, but I do not believe that she wrote those lyrics. And even if she did, I think that's worse because they're pretty shallow lyrics in my opinion.

I don't have a source but I know she said that she wrote the chorus at least. Said she had written the chorus like 2 years ago and brought it to Dr. Luke to turn into a song kinda deal so who knows. :P
