The weird thing is, avex is pouring lots of money into making her Japanese better, and they've given her really nice photoshoots and PVs, so I wonder why they fall short on promo.

oh very soon then! i hope when people in japan watch the movie..that they'll notice a girl named "alan"(well i hope they know it's a girl @_@) sang the theme song..i just hope for the japanese channels on tv, they'll cover RED CLIFF, and in the mean time be promoting alan like "wow, this amazing person sang the theme song, her single is out" etc., things like that~

when it comes to my favourite artists i download loads of their stuff and buy/or will buy their products as soon as i get the money, so i dont think its a bad thing if you download their stuff.

well i plan on buying her debut album CD+DVD, so downloading isn't a bad thing..unless all you do is download, and never buy even your fave artist's material~

What I'm afraid of is that avex will allow the popularity of RED CLIFF to do the job for them, and they won't promote the water single. Hopefully that won't be the case. And thanks mcken for all your contributions!!! :D

yeah Sora Uta's fantastic :yes , too bad it didn't managed to crack the top20 , I thought it had a chance especially Kaze no Tegami :(

I think the water single is a test. If RED CLIFF is enough to self-promote her, then the water single will sell well and they don't have to worry about promotion. If it doesn't sell well then they know they have to get their act together and hurry to promote the album.

But to be honest. I think they're paying a lot more attention to alan than they are with other artists. I constantly see alan's pictures advertising her releases next to Ayu's on websites. Normally the smaller artists don't really get anything.

And I think Kaze no Tegami sold amazingly considering it got NO promotion whatsoever.

yeah & you look at the way the covers of her singles are , they're so pretty & it keeps getting better from her 3rd single onwards in terms of design & etc
