Wow! Now that's a lot of 50 year-old moms. Congratulations to her :D

And bringing America into this is entirely irrelevant at the moment. She clearly needs to focus on success in her own country first and foremost. Look at Leona: she sold more copies of Spirit in the UK than she has in the US so far. Now that is a real accomplishment when she's bordering on 2 million copies sold in the UK alone.

Alexandra Burke has become the first British female solo artist to sell a million copies of a single in the UK.

The X Factor winner's cover of Hallelujah has been number one for the past three weeks, and was the first chart-topper of 2009.

The track has also become the biggest-selling single for a UK female solo artist in chart history, the Official Chart Company confirmed.

Leona Lewis's debut single, A Moment Like This, sold about 850,000 copies.

Burke, 20, is one of only 10 artists who have sold over a million copies this decade but is still about 100,000 sales short of Kylie Minogue's 2001 hit Can't Get You Out of My Head.

The list also includes (Is This The Way To) Amarillo by Tony Christie and Peter Kay, plus Bob the Builder's Can You Fix It.

The biggest seller is another former reality show contestant, Will Young, who won Pop Idol.

His debut, Anything Is Possible/Evergreen, released in March 2002, sold more than 1.1 million in its first week, making it the fastest-selling UK single in history.

yay!

Woahhh thread-revival.

Her debut album Overcome has just been re-released as a Deluxe edition, and let me tell you the new songs are INCREDIBLE.

Perfect and Before The Rain are two amazing ballads, so heartfelt and sincere and the lyrics are so nice. I'm sure you guys will love them.

I also just have to share this song with you guys, What Happens On The Dancefloor (feat. Cobra Starship). It's my new jam, so addicting!! :luv2

I'm surprised (in a good way) that an Alexandra Burke thread was even started. I hope that the re-release of Overcome will be available in Canada so I can buy it! "Start Without You" and "The Silence" were great single choices for the album. Also, her performance of the "The Silence" on the 2010 X Factor semi-final episode was amaaazing.

I watched that live performance on Sunday, she was so good! And the ending was so dramatic :laugh Loved the dress.

She's done really well for herself, but I'm not surprised to see that plug the deluxe version of Overcome. It's what they did for Leona afterall. /sigh

YOU GUYS NEED TO LISTEN TO WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DANCEFLOOR

NOW!

I'm so hooked on this song

I don't know if I should be the bearer of bad news to such a positive thread...
LOL I'mma do it anyway.

Alexandra Burke's new album, Heartbreak on Hold, debuted at number 18 on the UK Albums Chart. The week after, it dropped to number 74, a 66 spot drop.
It's too bad, since she actually has a nice voice.
