can i just ask one question? why isn't arashi's music appealing to everyone? like, i know KT has this rock image and they attract more fans, but why isn't arashi's style not for some listeners? i don't get it :shrug what's their style exactly anyway? it's all pop music anyway, lol. i dunno, i want more arashi lovers :weep

I'm not sure frankly Lisa , wish I can give an exact explaination to it .

Music wise , I think it's best to describe ARASHI's as mainly pop with rock thrown in for good measures

I love my rock music & that's where KT comes in but having said that I like both bands at the end of the day , it probably depends on what type of audience they appeal to

for ARASHI , they probably will appeal more to the older folks aside from the fangirls as they seem to me that they have an image of being caring/helpful to the senior citizens cos from watching their variety shows , I can see it in there .

KT's probably too cool for this line of work :laugh

well, Arashi's style has changed drastically over the years. i mean, it used to be that they would put out a pop single every once in a while, but now, they put out a pop single every single time. that's why i've been kinda turned off with Arashi (at the moment). i think i classify them as pure idol now like SMAP, but they started with hip-pop (i'm stealing Ms. Namie's term here, LOL) roots.

but, i don't think KAT-TUN has more fans, per se, but they probably appeal to more western fans, since their image is far off the usual idol style. and they appeal more to a more younger generation too. if you saw their "Best Artist" statistics, they even gather young male fans, lol. but if you see the overall picture, Arashi sold more last year!

but i agree that all JE music is pop music, but they all got a certain "class" to them. if you want something more edgy-rock then you go for KAT-TUN, crazy crack pop is KANJANI8, if you want something with more substance then you go to KinKi Kids, fun-rock-pop is TOKIO, etc. etc. etc.

if they were all the same, then i don't see how there could be any sort of conflict between fandoms. LOL. :P it all bubbles down to personal preference too. :yes

...and that's my word of wisdom. LOL. IDK if it's wise. just my 2 cents.

thanks karen and irene! i just get confused when people say "oh this group isn't my style" or "arashi just isn't my style". then to myself, i'm like, "what do you mean by style?" :laugh so i dunno, it baffles me sometimes :P

you make sense on what you said Irene :yes & haha I love it when you use crazy crack pop on Eito :laugh

I guess all the Johnny's bands's music are pop to a certain extent , it just depends on how you classify their music at the end of the day & it boils down to choices & the way their vocals are being worked on a song/style

like seriously I cannot see KT doing the type of music NEWS would do & vice versa :dead2

they have rock influenced no.s in their catalog like Jidai , Pikachi & Sakura Sake

don't know if you count truth as a rock song though :dead2

ultimately it's their decision to choose whether they want to listen to Johnny's or not

if they don't , too bad bcos they don't know that they're missing out on a ton load of fun (see the mayhem that I caused in the Johnny's threads :innocent)
