YUI's like Ayumi in a way in that all of her song titles are in Eng . Even Namida is credited as such & not in Romanji/Kanji context

then again both of them were born in the same perfecture so ...

Her only single that is somewhat in Japanese is Namidairo.

I thought it was quite interesting how she used the Kanji for the title, and not the Japanese words.

edit: Namidairo is not in Kanji??? Huh?

sorry what I meant's Namidairo & not Namida :dead2 ... & the word Namidairo's spelt as it's on the single cover & not in Romanji context

if you check the single covers , you know what I mean

^ Namidairo is one of the songs that I somewhat liked from her third album.

It is a bit catchy. It reminds me of I Remember You in some aspects.

I tried to get into ayaka's music when she first came out, but I didn't like it after giving it a try.

Then she released Mikazuki (spelling?), and it was very popular, but I still couldn't get into the song.

yes it's Mikazuki :yes , her 1st #1 single & prob the main reason as to why First Message was able to sell so well

I got into YUI after that because my younger sister's a diehard YUI fan & she's like you , not so into ayaka that much :(

Well, I personally can't get into ayaka's music, cus it's just different. I dunno why.

And I find that people who like a certain artist, also have this tendency to like similar artists as well. So for example, people who like YUI might also like Shion Tsuji (the next YUI as her thread title says) as well, and so on.

mmm yeah I suppose so

I still can't believe both ladies are born in the same year as me :thud

ayaka looks older than YUI. YUI has this teenager look. Maybe it's her baby face, and the fact that she is short, which makes her look like she is around 15-17-ish.

KarenPang 19th January 2009 06:07 AM

lol I agree , YUI does dress like her age but not ayaka :no

rookies 19th January 2009 06:08 AM

^ I always thought ayaka was 25 or somewhere near there. She does look a lot more mature than YUI.

I think it's the way ayaka dressed as she's always in hippy boho style

it works in her favor sometimes but not all the time

YUI's dress sense's better imo

I find that YUI's dress sense is a lot better too.

I find she looks very pretty when she wears skirts, like for example, on the I Remember You single cover, and also the MY SHORT STORIES cover.

I crown you the first to not like Mikazuki. :thud
You're probably like me in that First Message is an okay album but keeps you from listening to Sing to the Sky but believe me, that is worth taking a listen.

I gave her Sing to the Sky album a try back when it was released, but none of the songs seem to interest me, or really catch my attention, or make me like it.

However, I do like her live performances though. I did watch one where she sang at ap bank fest '08 (with the guy from Mr. Children on guitar), and I loved the performance. ^^

KarenPang 19th January 2009 08:34 AM

ayaka's prob the very rare few that can sound the same if not better live as what you hear on the CD :thud

YUI , not really so

I do admire ayaka for giving very good live performances. She sure can keep her voice on-tune and stuff like that.

I think YUI is maybe nervous in her live performances. She sure seems like a shy type of person, and tense too in her live performances.
