Yea I have no clue why

I checked out the videoclip of the song, and it's really quite bad.

I guess the French like nonsense hardrock a lot -_- like Rammstein, but that is German.

The single sold hardly though o_O

Here in France J-Rock and Visual are more popular than J-Pop, I think that explains the result...

Unlike Gackt the other nominated singers are not really known in France (except T.M Revolution).
So he 'won' thanks to his popularity and not thanks to the quality of his single...

I like Gackt's "Jesus" single, glad it did well. A lot of j-rock (Visual Kei) bands holds concerts in Europe regularly, so it's not weird that this kind of song did good on this list, even though it's not a Visual Kei artist. =p

I thought Jesus was pretty good, better than GHOST anyways.

Maybe, but you are missing my, luna62 and x-megumi-x's point. These are the one's that are generally well-known in Europe, so therefore it is not so strange that this one was selected.

kirei_ayumi 26th January 2009 02:13 PM

I guess people expected more, even tough I loved 2 tracks from MOON and TABOO, many people didn't + Stay with me was cheap :D so I guess that's why they thought it was boring, cuz 2/3 single's A-sides were ballads.

Kazeyomi 26th January 2009 03:53 PM

Thanks for the info :3 congratz Ayu!!!

Omg is the same here in Italy.
When you say to most of j-rock/visual kei fans 'oh, I'm fan of Ayumi Hamasaki I love her! ^_^' they reply 'oh so do you like pop music she's like a japanese Britney Spears'.. =_________=

I agree with all categories (even Kuu's haha), but the hightlight of the year should be Ayu's Anniversary
