I'd suggest Tommy, ZARD, Puffy, L'arc en ciel, OLIVIA and alan if you're into the general J-Pop/soft J-rock :)

As far as K-pop I'd suggest Son dam Bi, I think Cloud Honey put her mini-albums up...I prefer the first one though!

If you're interested in C-pop maybe Jolin and Gigi Leung would be your type of artists? Gigi has a pretty voice and even though I lost the burned CD of her songs I was given about 5 years ago I can still remember the chorus to the "covergirl" song she sang xDD It was really catchy!

Lately I can't stop listening to the Techno-Pop Trio Perfume. Give'em shot any song will do, the latest is a song called "One Room Disco". :)

My only two recommendations are as follow:
B'z and YUI!!!

(AAA is also another one... But I'm not sure if you'll like them! :laugh)

Hmmm.....

Jpop:
BoA / Very easy to get into and she has some unforgettable songs, though I recommend her Korean stuff over her Japanese stuff. Listen to her albums Atlantis Princess and Girls on Top
Nami Tamai / Very upbeat techno songs and she has a very powerful voice. I recommend her album Make Progress for new fans.
KOTOKO / She's sometimes techno and she's sometimes soft rock, but her songs are very easy to listen to and she has a gorgeous voice.
YUI / She has very feel-good songs that are addicting
OLIVIA / She's too good for words, just listen to her.
Rie Fu / Very pretty mellow songs that are really easy to get into.

Kpop:

TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki / If you're gonna listen to them, listen to their Korean stuff because it's so much better than their Japanese stuff. They all have gorgeous voices and I recommend their album Rising Sun.
Big Bang / great dancing, vocals, raps, songs, everything. You should defiantly give them a listen.
SHINee / Very catchy, pretty songs with very good vocals.
Wonder Girls / upbeat and fun. That's pretty much the only way to describe them.
Lee Hyori / great hip-hop and R&B songs mixed with good vocals.
Super Junior / lol just listen to them, you'll like them.
Rain / This man is godly, you must listen to his Rainism album.
Girls' Generation / Ever heard the song Gee?

C-pop:
S.H.E / gorgeous vocals and fun songs
Jolin Tsai / She has very pretty ballads mixed with a very cute voice and face
Show Luo / awesome, upbeat songs and terrific vocals. I recommend his newest album Trendy Man.

Hitomi Shimatani - She started as a enka singer and is one of j-pop best vocalists (and IMO the best one of this generation). Likes to mix orchestra and ethinic sounds to j-pop.

Rina Aiuchi - Pretty much the Ayumi of Giza Studio (Mai Kuraki being their Hikki :P), mix dance and rock pretty, her music sounds more like anime themes... she write all her lyrics
