Love the album but...

Why re-release a flop? So it can flop even harder? Lol. Epic failure

Tony G 28th August 2009 09:17 AM

maybe for new songs for the fans?

if you dont like it - dont listen to it.

I don't think it's that people here dislike it...it's just the album failed once already, they should by all means keep trying, but with fresh material, not just the same album+3 new songs. >_<

I like the new cover :P I just kinda think they should've gone with the sam black & white theme from her other 3 US releases, but whatever. Didn't they add an actual bridge to Energetic? I'm pretty sure they did, but confirmation would be nice. If they did, its a good thing, b/c the original is rather repetative... I'm listening to the samples as I type this, but I still haven't really develaoped an opinion on it... :/

[edit] now that I read some other posts, a lot of ppl are saying it was kinda a waste of time to re-release the entire album. And I agree with this. They could've easily released the 3 new songs on a single, and probably saved a butt-load of money...

[edit... again] I'm probably not gonna buy the whole thing. I might just dl the 3 new songs from iTunes alone, but thats a big maybe...

could anybody tell me if her us album flopped in Japan too?
it's the same for hikki... I know those album are epic fails in US but what about in Japan (and Korea for BoA)...?

Polyrhythm 7th September 2009 12:33 AM

BoA sold 8,000 copies (more?). It reached #127 (US Billboard 200). This Is The One sold 16,000 copies(more?). It reached #69 (US Billboard 200). Best & USA sold 132,570 (to date) in Japan and reached #1 weekly (Oricon). Hikki sold 234,547 (to date) in Japan and reached #3 weekly (Oricon). BoA sold 15,000 in Korea. Reached #1 (Korean Hanteo Pop). Thats a quick summary

NintendoHTF1242 7th September 2009 05:13 AM

Utada basically pwned BoA in everything except for in Korea.

mcluva420 7th September 2009 07:18 AM

lets not compare BoA and Utada for now.. :innocent

Well....BoA has Utada beat when it comes to promotion...Utada just sits back pretending that her album will sell millions without even a second single. BoA's already releasing a deluxe edition and a new single @_@ It's so sad because This Is The One really had the potential to be great in the U.S.

Didn't she promote the hell out of it the first time? She was practically everywhere but everyone ignored her.

I like the idea, I'll try to buy it again

Interesting point to make when Utada's lack of promotion still caused her to sell more.

I have them both and love them both. I just wish more Americans would embrace j-pop artists.
