Last year she performed "Mirrorcle World"... that was a special exception, I think they said, because she opened for the first time, and they wanted to really change and open it with a "bang" haha.

I do wonder what she'll perform this year, too. She always releases winter singles, so I wonder if she'll perform that or something from earlier this year...?

Doesn't Kouhaku choose the songs the artists have to perform?

I hope she performs a new song, like a nice ballad and not sunrise/sunset.

^ I can just imagine how dead the Kohaku audience would be if she performed Sunrise. I'm guessing it will be a new ballad we haven't heard yet.

As far as I know, they do not. They may give suggestions, but ultimately it is up to the artist/record company. They do make you cover up your tattoos though. ^_^ Interestingly in 2002, Namie performed Wishing on the Same Star and had her tattoos showing. I imagine they must have gotten a lot of complaints because the next year she had them covered with makeup for her performance and that's the only time I've ever seen her cover hers for a performance. She hasn't performed on Kohaku since then. Also Ayumi obviously had to cover hers - which was kind of strange last year actually because it seemed like a last minute thing. She didn't have it covered with makeup but with a large bandage that stood out - obviously she had been covering that tattoo at Kohaku with makeup for the last several years, it was only last year that she had a bandage over it.

Yay~ Ayu and ARASHI!!! I really want to see Kouhaku this year.

Thanks for posting this here, else I wouldn't have read it. Kouhaku is the most important peformance of the year, so I'm glad Ayu's most probably gonna attend it again. And hopefully she will not her latest single. A new song, or maybe 'Curtain Call' will be a good idea.

AAA and SID o.O I'm also glad to see JUJU there. As someone said it would be weird if Ayu wasn't on the list ^^

Thank goodness this is not the confirmed list. It would be rather disappointing to have kouhaku without SPEED.
