This confirms my belief that Hikki is still very popular despite scarcely releasing things. ♥

I was referring to what the general public feels about what she's released the past year. Go look at the sales for TITO and tell me if she did good. ;) And she also released a remix of Beautiful World and her U3 songs, didn't she? Oh, goody. Old stuff. Everybody loved those singles. Much better than releasing something new! -.-

^Uh ok....TITO charted at #3 weekly and sold over 240k....how is this bad? And its a foreign release too...but then again...she is voted #2 so obviously she's doing something right....think about it. :innocent

I'm not saying it's horrible, but it's average at best. And I'm relating that to the average artist too. For Hikki, that's a flop. :\ It doesn't matter that it's a "foreign" release. It's still Hikaru Utada. The general Japanese audience, that likes her, still obsesses over her releases because she doesn't churn out constant work, like Ayu or Kuu. And they usually buy her stuff, no matter if it's crap or genius, in English or in Japanese. (Remember the "failure" that was EXODUS..? If you didn't know, it's a million seller, in Japan alone. :O) But obviously TITO just wasn't good enough for most of them, even though it's Hikki, so that should tell you something.
Yeah, she's doing something right. She's an icon in Japan. That's all. Her past few releases were ****. But because she's Utada, THAT's why she got number two, not because of her music. Which, I'm not trying to bring her down. I like her, too. I'm just kinda confused on some of these numbers. I expected her to still be in top ten definitely, maybe number five? But I wasn't expecting two, since this wasn't a good year for her.

Haha, they probably have Hikki on there because she didn't suck up most of Japan's money this year :P.

Utada is really the ultimate idol!!! Everybody loves her to death, no matter the age or gender... she's really an icon.and I'm seeing her live *-* *-* *-*

Mr.Children? They're releasing a digital-only single called "fanfare" - the first time Mr.Children has released a new song since last year's "SUPERMARKET FANTASY" (a year!?) - but how are they going to promote? And it better not release in competition with Ayu's single...
