Thanks very much masa!! :D

Yay, thanks for the translations! :D The lyrics are really pretty, though very typical for an Ayu parting-song. I don't think this necessarily has anything to do with Nagase - I mean, she wrote plenty parting songs during the time they were together as well, right? And I think most of her "grieving" was around GUILTY, cuz she seemed really depressed [for a lot of reasons] during that period, but then "got her life back on track" and cheered up on MW~>NL period, so it would feel kind of out of place, being all dramatic all of a sudden... though then again, it's the season for that. Well I dunno. I just know I still harbored secret hopes that they'd get back together one day, which means THIS...

So it seems this song is maybe her feelings about how he was able to get into a serious relationship with someone else so quickly.

...has officially broken my heart :weep

I think... Ayu is the one who wants to focus on her career and all that. Nagase probably wants to settle down, and they have conflicting thoughts and interests from there.

Seriously, I don't think any of them is to be blamed, especially when there's no cheating or whatever. They have conflicting interests, so they separated... oh well.

Those feelings are hard to ignore, and even if you write about it 2 1/2 years later you can still have feelings for that person. Ayu had different stuff going on in her life in GUILTY so maybe that's why the lyrics are different than NEXT LEVEL. Not all her songs are about Love and Relationships. And this one, You were..., seems just to scream Tomoya Nagase to me. Maybe Ayu met him recently and started thinking of him again, she said they are still friends. About Aibu Saki: The have been together for 2 years now and everytime I read an marriage rumour, it says they are gonna get married in the next days or next month. But they don't. For 2 years now. So, maybe there is still hope for the Ayu/Tomoya Shipper. :innocent

that.

it's quite depressing to still remember a love and the time you was with him.. but it's worse if at the same time the other persone seems to have forgotten all and has another relation ship and seems happy while you aren't...

I love the lyrics so much. Too bad they didn't translate into the chorus as much.

Diana 9th December 2009 01:21 PM

I love the lyrics ;_; Thank you masa!!!

Also I found these lyrics:

The lovers pass by each other and bump their shoulder as they walk
The cold is so piercing because you're not here

If it gets to the that the season can be forgotten then that's the point
where there's nothing left
That which shined so bright in my dream was the act of loving you, so

I thought you were the last person
I wanted my last love to be with you
Alone under such a vast night sky
What in the world am I supposed to think?

Such a shy smiling face was there next to me before
Hey, how long will it be until this pain finally ends?

The continuation of the dream we spoke of back then
And the favorite phrases we always say to each other
You might be able to forget everything
But I won't ever be able to forget a single one

The moment I started to move on
I was attacked by memories of your kindness and warmth

I thought you were the last person
I wanted my last love to be with you
Alone under such a vast night sky
What in the world am I supposed to think?

The continuation of the dream we spoke of back then
And the favorite phrases we always say to each other
You might be able to forget everything
But I won't ever be able to forget a single one
But I won't ever be able to forget a single one

Is Japanese that hard to translate? (I guess yes..), these lyrics are different than masa's (of course I trust masa more!)
Just wanted to share :)

I think it's Delirium's ZerO's translation, she posted it in the official thread of the single.

Anyway, I love even more the song now that I know the meaning of the lyrics! Thanks again masa! I'm looking forward to BALLAD's translation ^^

Lyrics are really simple but pretty. I'm getting used to her new style of writing songs. :D I haven't heard the song yet but lyrically this song sounds very promising already. :)
