Oh no!! This.....this is definitely a shame. :( I remember sitting on the computer one day, going through all her performances of I Will Always Love You, and just staring and listening in awe...... That video definitely didn't show that same singer. D:
And she's only in her mid-forties, yes? She should still be going strong....... I suppose it would be the drugs, then. Because she was known for over-singing, especially with this special song, but it wasn't in a way that would ruin her voice (not from what I've seen, anyhow). So yeah.... So sad. :cry

Then again, is it just this concert she was off? Or has she been going down for a while now? I honestly haven't seen any very recent performances by Houston, so.. I hope she takes care of her health from on now, to help save that beautiful voice!

And yes, I think we all realise that Ayu certainly needs to rest her voice, but for different reasons than what Whitney does, of course. Whitney Houston's most likely problem is her health in general - not necessarily her actual voice - probably due to the drugs she's done, while Ayumi's problem is mostly her voice alone being extremely worn out. (Then again, we still don't know whether or not Ayu is doing other things to contribute, as well, such as drinking, smoking, etc.....and her ear is most likely causing some issues, of course)

The video is from her concert in korea, and she is touring around australia now. people that went to her first performance in sydney complained so much! they said that it was the worst concert they've ever been to, etc

many people walked off of it too :/ and they showed a few videos of her singing and it was worst than this one i posted here. she didnt sing, she was just talking, and when she tried to sing she started coughing... so yea

pretty upsetting...

but why the hell is this woman touring if she cant sing? i mean she could take some time to see if she is actually capable of it

zyoeru 24th February 2010 02:33 AM

Well, Julie Andrews does that too...

jbrat2219 24th February 2010 03:05 AM

Quite upsetting to see. Isn't Ayu's favorite movie The Bodyguard? I wonder if she's a Whitney fan?

Crystal_Ageha 24th February 2010 03:09 AM

^^ ......I thought she was just an actress, hah. x_X

^ And yeah, Ayu is said to love that movie... Never heard if she was a fan of Houston, though.

Ugh, that's sounds awful! And not just awful for Whitney Houston, but.....awful. :\ I feel bad for her.....

Nooo, she was a professional singer with a 4 octave range. She underwent throat surgery a few years ago and completely lost her singing voice.

pommy48 24th February 2010 03:43 AM

Oh....that's sad @_@ I thought it was ok in the beginning.....but I just kept on cringing more and more when she tried to sing the high notes...

love in music 24th February 2010 04:14 AM

I guess it's sad for whitney because she used to have a really good voice. It's not as sad for ayu because she was never really known for having an amazing voice.

nanakopy87 24th February 2010 04:24 AM

ouch.i love this song very much.this is sad to see her sing like this. :irked
she's not able to recover after the throat surgery?

waterballoon 24th February 2010 04:55 AM

oh God... her voice is all raspy... and the high notes ugh. She was really such a legend in the past...

emi♡ 24th February 2010 05:56 AM

Seriously, her voice has been bad for a long time. I remember catching her live on TV like in the past year or so :no not good.

I don't think she should have done such a large tour :/ The woman is like almost 50...and while that isn't old her body certainly is not going to recover at any rate close to where it needs to...

I still cant believe that people would walk out of her concert and be so rude. They cant even have respect for her. What *******s :irked

Minttulatte 24th February 2010 12:22 PM

That's so sad. :/ Whitney really had a amazing voice before. I didn't watch the video but I can honestly believe it's not what it used to be. But I will watch the video later today (if I'm able to come here) and say more. :)

Sorry, but they paied expensive tickets to see one of the best vocalists alive (as she used to be) and watch something worst than Britney's live vocals nowadays... She is the one showing disrespect first not delivering good material for such a high price... If she was Madonna, Britney, Ayu, or other singer known by a huge show filled with visuals, maybe it would be ok... but the only aspect that would make it worthy to watch Whitney singing live is her voice... and she killed it...

VRGRK 24th February 2010 09:19 PM

I've never really been a hudge fan (or really one in gereral).. but it's quite sad that she is unable to sing anymore, she used to have such a wonderful voice.

rookies 24th February 2010 09:21 PM

Her singing is bad in that video. :/

While I don't necessarily agree with walking out of a concert (not just because of a respect thing, but because of the waste of money, lol!! XD), you certainly have a point.

Cherry Dynamite 24th February 2010 11:05 PM

I probably won't walk of her concert or any concert.

------------------------------------------------
And I agree people go to Whitney's concert for her voice and without it, She's not worth watching.

kendelle 25th February 2010 12:04 AM

Whitney Houston is like some kind of walking billboard as to why you shouldn’t dabble in drugs… :no

I don’t know if you can really compare it to Ayu’s voice…at least not yet. Why not give her some time until the new album comes out as she might be taking steps to correct her abilities. It would be nice to think that she undertook some vocal training while in the UK, regardless of how likely that is >_<

Julie Andrews developed throat cancer and now can't sing because of the surgery she had to remove the cancerous cells, so there's no comparison there...

I'm not stupid. I was making a comparison because they're both women who had phenomenal voices and now can't sing properly.

extepan 25th February 2010 12:51 AM

it sounds like she is speaking but out of breath

freedreamer 25th February 2010 05:28 PM

O dear...that chorus was really...>.<
I'm not an English music fan but i definitely know I have heard the older rendition of this..and gosh..Poor Whitney..
