great beginning for Ayu and Microphone,wow!

There are very very few female solo artists that can sell a million now a days. Considering you don't count compilation albums, that excludes Namie's massive selling BEST FICTION which last I saw as over 1.5 million copies sold in Japan alone. Ayu being able to remain one of the top selling female artists after more than 10 years in the game is impressive no matter how you look at it. And Ayu didn't really have "overyly heavy marketing from Avex" with NEXT LEVEL. With little perks and one song performance it's impressive she ranked higher on the yearly chart than she did with GUILTY. It seems like this time Ayu and Avex are going ALL OUT on gifts, extras and marketing because Ayu really believes in this album.

As for how Microphone debuted #1? Well it couldn't have done that if it "weren't that good" of a song from Ayu. It's well outside of the mainstream Japan seems to love so much. On top of that, it's an album track. Not heavily promoted a-side single, so it has to have SOMETHING going for it. :laugh

WOW, I can't believe Microphone has maintained #1, it's not even a single, let alone something I would expect Japan to like ^_^ On the other hand maybe they've realized how amazing the song is xD Hopefully the other songs will rise when the PVs get aired~

I seriously hope this is an indication that R'n'RC will sell better than NL. Not that I think NL is not as great as R'n'RC (we haven't even heard the album yet), but that finally ayu can have a studio album's sales exceed its previous one (the last one was... Duty.. oh wait... MY STORY was the last one).
