+1000000000000000000000000000

in my eyes GACKT is worth enough to work with anyone especially Ayu...however this is supposed to be charity, so I don't give a damn about with who Ayu might collaborate. I'm happy enough to see artists do something for their country, that's the most importaint I think! ;)

I would have to agree.. Im dont know anything about if he is good enough or popular ehough, I just dont like the sound of his voice. But even If they did do a song together I would buy it because of ayumi.
Heck, i have their Christmas songs and listen to them around Christmas time because its ayumi, so maybe his voice will grow on me.

I think it's the same outside of Japan where the majority of his fans are girls who are into visual kei artists. It took years for me to start liking his music, as at first I found his voice to be quite awkward, but I think I like it now, I mean I even took the time to go see him live in Germany last summer, as he kinda became my fave male artist. But I do understand what you're saying :) Still, I am sure that if Ayu and him were ever to join forces they could write and compose an amazing track.

I'm agreeing with that too. :yes

I love Gackts voice but only like 2 of his songs, and I really just like them, not like I listen to them often. But I think his voice isn't quite fitting with Ayu's voice. However, if the song is nice I have really nothing to complain about.

i've never been into Gackt's music, but i never thought he was bad as an artist or anything. just like most solo male Japanese artists, girls are all over him. take Miyavi for example, the worst thing about him is his fandom and it kind of pushed me away from his music tbh.

i don't think we should be debating whether Gackt is "good enough" to do a collab with Ayu or not though. by our standards, NOBODY would be good enough to collab with her. :laugh who gives a crap who she collabs with if it raises money for a good cause?

He is a genius. He deserves more credit for it. He does EVERYTHING, lyrics, composition, arrangements, everything and he does it excellently, better than others in my opinion. :innocent

A+ :yes
OK let's wait for the annoucement,, it's not confirmed yet!(笑)

AyUmIXx 25th March 2011 04:43 PM

i don't mind whom ayu is gonna collaborate with..
it's for a good cause.. not for commercial so i'm okay..
even if it's for commercial, i'm fine too..

TeamAyu2004 25th March 2011 04:46 PM

They should totally do something like american artist did with 'We are the world" and the Haiti tribute and the tribute to fighting cancer. They just need ALL the best artist to combine and sing a new song..
that would be pretty cool.

About "we are the world", there were rumours that H!P and AKB are supposed to do an idol version of it, however it isnÄt confirmed and i doubt it's true

Ayumiko 25th March 2011 05:26 PM

good enough? what? This is for a charity!

This so much. :tired Reading these "Gackt isn't good enough for our Queen Ayu :weep" posts was a waste of time. I'm not really bothered who she collabs with.

this
Although I'd really like a collaboration with Gackt, I wouldn't give a damn if she will collab with him or.. Kana Nishino :laugh maybe. The most important thing is raise money for a good cause.

I'm actually really shocked at the amount of people who dislike Gackt. I really, really thought he was super popular. It's ironic that you guys are discussing him. I rediscovered his music just yesterday.

I don't understand why many are complaining at the idea of them collaborating. He's really good and to be perfectly honest (IN MY OPINION) he's better at creating beautiful music than Ayu is. Yes, Ayu is great in other domains but any argument saying that Gackt isn't good enough for her is based on BS.

Lol. THIS, I felt so wierd seeing people say that Gackt isn't good enough for ayu, I think he's just as good as Ayu. There both equally talented, I really love them both the same. No one else compares to the meaningful lyrics that Ayu writes, except Gackt, imo.

But this is about charity it's not about who's good enough for Ayu, it's just about raising money for Japan, and I haven't seen anyone going as full out as Gackt has, is if it's his personal duty. So yes, I think he is good enough for Ayu.

Yeah, IA. Most of his compositions are 100x better than anything ayu has composed.

I used to be a huge fan of Gackts, but so many of his songs sound the same to me...He does have talent for sure, but I honestly don't think he's the musical genius people like to claim he his.
Anyway, if she did collaborate with someone, I don't really mind who.

I completely agree. Sometimes, he has songs which are nice, but for the most part, they all sound like one continuous song...

That said, I think it's great if they collaborate together. Ayu really isn't a top selling artist either anymore, so it's not like she's on an entirely different level than him. But it is true, Gackt only has a limited following in Japan, so they'd have to get many more artists to participate to really make this single or song really big, if it is made at all.

jbrat2219 26th March 2011 05:58 AM

Not to turn this into a Gackt thread of anything, but I just listened to MARS for the first time in years and I almost forgot how flawless it is. I encourage skeptics to check it out!
