^Unfortunately, there's no way to enforce a rule like that. Unless you ban a member who without a doubt posted something somewhere else that they shouldn't have.

I think a huge percentage of members on this forum are this type. Like, what's the ratio of total members on here to active (or even semi-active) posters? Anyone who joins immediately has access to all content shared here. I've been a member of forums in the past where to access their download section you would need to either have a certain amount of posts or be a member for a certain amount of time. Not a horrible idea.

This has been an issue for years, I'm unsure why people are suddenly bothered about it now. However, the having a certain amount of posts to access the download section is not an idea that hasn't been discussed by the moderators before. Unfortunately, it's not something a moderator can implement but I can ask an administrator how viable it is.

Uploading PVs and other things to sites like youtube where Avex is OBVIOUSLY INEVITABLY going to find it and realize that a TA member shared it, or to put exclusive content up so that ANYONE can download it (as opposed to trusted forum members or whatever), now that's just not cool. It's actually embarrassing for me, as a TA member. Even more so being a global member, because I don't really think these types of things happened like this (correct me if I'm wrong) before TA went global.

It definitely did happen; in fact, it was 'worse' with diary entries and photos being shared too. These things are shared through Twitter and Baidu so it's not as if we can pinpoint people's locations as to who shares it. (Not that it ultimately matters)

But getting a PV early, even if by an hour, a day, a week, whatever, or something to that extent, it should be for the TA members for pay for those privileges. If you want perks like that, you can join also, or just wait until it's on youtube like the rest of the world.

It's not difficult to do, I appreciate that. But I do feel things have been blown out of proportion for a short version of a music video. In a perfect world I'd rather have people wait as well if it just keeps the peace... :tipsy

I'll look into the download forum post limit - how to stop people posting in the Ayu Music News or any other forum is going to be a problem; if no one reports, moderators will miss it, and it'll all be for nothing. But it's something the moderators can implement for now if the others agree.

From the sound of it I understand were people are coming from. Im a member but I dont share stuff :) but I don't crack a poopie when someone does :P You cant blame what TA is today because people have shared like 3 videos. TA was in a decline for ages and the whole maro thing didn't help with it with her Japanese fans. Ayus management of her stuff isnt the best and look at her global/English website, its left outdated. Her team has always been slow at organizing the English side :P But cracking a poops just because someone leaked a video which she uploads a few days later to her youtube. All your cracking about is losing the ability to say I can see this first :P Its not the reason for TA state today. Its just how things are now a days. Might as well complain about her lack of single sales and complain that people are just downloading it instead. There is a lot more at work than just what we can see. My view is TA Global should of waiting to be made live until they worked out the bugs and make a better payment option with shipping. Kind of odd to have a global fan site but have to sign up to a 3rd party just to buy the stuff :P But the site is a place for you to go to if you want to look around, to be apart of TA and support your fav artist, not to complain about what other people do. Stuff will always leak and you might as well complain about people who leak the album a week ahead. Just because its not through TA, should they not also receive the same blah you throw at people who share TA stuff. And her twitter, she may feel like she doesn't have to update with TA because she basically updates her fans with twitter now :) You cant pick and choose what to be bias about, you hate sharing altogether or you don't. Meaning if you have ever downloaded a leak, album or DVD, you are already a hypocrite to your standings about TA and not sharing :P Its all getting something for free, which other people have paid for.
But I do agree with the people need to stop demanding new stuff to upload for them to download, some people can be very rude about it.

I don't get what's the big deal about joining tenso... It's not hard to register there at all. And it's only needed if you want to order from mu-mo or TA shop. If price is a problem, do you really expect avex to ship everything for free internationally?

I agree with the "all Ayu fans are TA , regardless if they pay extra or not" sentiment, but I don't really like it when people act like they're entitled to everything, and are rude about it. Like, you got the TA content for free? Great. You don't think paying for it is justified? Well, you can mention what can be improved in your opinion, without bashing.

But it's not like I'm surprised. This is the way the community works. And it's not exclusive to this issue or even AHS... I just wish everyone would be nicer to each other and the artists, in this case Ayu :D

Things might be blown out of proportion for a short version of a music video, but there is such a thing as the last straw - and TeamAyu members don't get much these days as it is, so those of us paying for it would like our money not to be wasted.

And no, sharing was NOT worse back in the day. There are TONS of photo galleries, video diaries, wallpapers, and screen savers from before 2006 that NO ONE ever shared, and they're not even on the site anymore, so they're gone forever now lol.

I was talking more about 2009-2011/2012.

We'll see what we can do about the problems, but things are much easier to share these days. I think both 'sides' to this problem will have to lower their expectations.

Well, you have to pay shipping from mu-mo to tenso, then tenso fee, then international shipping, and for me it's always around 20-25€ total each time. When you need to save money, even the least amount count. I'm so cheap lol
Not to mention the amount of time it takes for a parcel from tenso to arrive, it doesn't matter which method I choose, it takes more than 2 months every single time...

Whaaaat? How is that possible? I've only ever used EMS or whatever the fastest one is, but my stuff from tenso usually arrives within 3-4 days!

I don't think avex would make shipping much cheaper tbh. Maybe they would exclude the domestic shipping, but that's less than $5. But considering they're still using mu-mo (just like they always have, and are Japanese fans complaining about it? Idk, I don't follow any Japanese communities since I don't speak Japanese)...

Btw, I don't know how credible this is, but I've heard that avex are required to use a forwarding service by law. Can anyone confirm this?

As for shipping, omg it never took so long for my parcels to deliver, even though the post in my country is not the best. It took less than a month with the slowest shipping option. So it shouldn't be a tenso issue...

~angel*ayumi~ 22nd July 2015 08:53 PM

I remember a package that took 1 and a half month from my country´s airport to my local custom office xD

The use of mu-mo isn't really the problem (mu-mo is avex's store, after all), it's the Tenso in between. Using Tenso doesn't ONLY add domestic shipping to the cost, but also consolidation fees if more than one item is in our box at once (i.e. a CD and a TeamAyu goods item, or two CDs from two different release dates), and Tenso's handling fees. So like my last package from Tenso had 4 items from Amazon Japan - the consolidation fee was 1100 yen, and handling was 940 yen. That's an extra $20 that I wouldn't have had to pay if those Amazon sellers shipped overseas.

If Avex used a base of operations in each of SE Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America - for example, in Hong Kong, Sydney, Paris, and Los Angeles - then they could actually use those as delivery hubs where they could send overseas-bound goods all at once from Japan, and that would drive the shipping costs down even further. However, it would require them establishing those sorts of bases, and while that would have been possible 10 years ago, I'm not sure they could do it now and not have it be a major financial risk.

I sincerely doubt it. I feel like if avex were required to not ship directly to overseas customers, using a forwarding service would most likely be a loophole that they'd probably still get in trouble for.

If there's a rule saying they can't ship directly to overseas customers, it's a cost cutting measure - it negates a need for fluent english-speaking customer service employees, it puts shipping responsibility on the customer and Tenso instead of themselves, it's less of a hassle, and if any of Avex's releases get licensed for US distribution (for example, anime like Initial D and Inuyasha), there's no concern over competing with themselves in the US, so they don't have to hire extra legal help. mu-mo sells plenty of non-avex releases too, which would be harder for them to keep track of licensing for, so that would definitely be a risk factor.

I'm admittedly asking for a social shift to happen, but that shift CAN happen - and I've seen it happen at various forums, in various networks, and in various fandoms over the last 15 years. I'm optimistic that if everyone actually tries, then it will work and it won't take long.

Hearing about how Koda Gumi works, I'm not especially surprised.... it seems more and more like Kuu's people and Ayu's people just think of their respective fan clubs very differently. Ayu has, quite literally, been insulted by her fan club members in the past. Ayu's fan club members got nasty after CDL 01-02 so she had to close her TeamAyu BBS.

But I think the turning point was when she posted about Aneki's death, and PEOPLE READ EXCERPTS OF THAT POST ON TV NEWS. That was absolutely disastrous for the fan club. She was really upset by that. THAT is the kind of sharing that's sorta poisoned the well for us... if we share cover art or videos now, that counts against us as club members far more than other fan clubs, I think. I think that post getting publicly broadcast was a major blow to Ayu's faith in her fan club members keeping things "in the group." With things like the Summer diary PV, we're being tested (whether it's deliberate on Ayu & avex's part or not) and we fail EVERY SINGLE TIME.

That's pretty profound. 👍

Hello guys. I'm thinking about joining the Global TA as I'm going to Japan next April, and I was wondering if it's possible for us to get tickets for the upcoming tour through the Global fanclub ?

attractive nausea 28th September 2015 10:35 PM

^ Of course you can!

Material Boy 28th September 2015 11:10 PM

OMG I'm so thrilled then ! Haha I'm such a newbie at all of this, I've been to a lot of concerts in France cause it's easy to get tickets, but I'd be my first time in Japan !
I'd have a few questions more, hope you don't mind guys !
- Do we have to buy the tickets or do we have to win the lottery ? I've heard about this system from a Japanese friend of mine, don't know if it applies to the Global Fanclub..
- Is it easy for us to subscribe to the GTA ? I've checked the website and to be honest, it's kind of mess haha
- If we are able to get a ticket, is it going to be sent at our overseas address or do we have to get it delivered inside Japan ?

You enter the lottery and if you win, you get the chance to buy tickets.

Joining the fanclub is easy as long as you have a major credit card. You'll need to sign up for a Tenso account if you want to buy anything from the TeamAyu shop since mu-mo (avex's online shop) will only ship orders domestically within Japan.

If you win a ticket lottery and live overseas, you pick up the tickets at the venue on the day of the concert. Have your passport and your digital fan club license ready, hand them to the staff person, and once they scan the QR code on your license they hand you an envelope with your tickets.

Material Boy 28th September 2015 11:29 PM

^ Ok thank you so much for all your precise explanations Choco <3 I'm gonna print them and pin them in my travel book ;) Do you know if the chances are low or high to win at the lottery ?

Earth_maiden 29th September 2015 01:11 AM

^I believe it's just completely random. Being a member of regular TA in 2012 and 2014, I had completely different experiences. In 2012 I got two tickets in the very first TA ballot for the CDL. In 2014 I entered the ballot three times for a single ticket and got ZERO tickets. So I don't believe there's any more or less chance to get tickets this way. Maybe being in Global TA in different though?

I think if you try global you would have a better chance because you would not be competing with her Japanese fans

Everyone is competing for the same tickets. There's only one TA--it just happens to be global. You have to use a different registration link when balloting for tickets if you live overseas because of the difference in delivery method, that's all.
