They do have a type of arrangement in mind though because else they couldn't properly compose. The exact arrangement may not be from him but he most certainly envisioned how beautiful you are as soft pianoballad and party queen as upbeat electronic pop song.

Makes me wonder...is Party Queen maybe the Doctor Who inspired song? Haha Ayumi might have changed the title to fit with her party idea but it does sound like it would somewhat fit the Doctor Who universe musically lol Very Tardis in parts.

Okay, so I don't really hate Party Queen. I do like the music (quite a bit actually, sounds like I'll grow to really like it), but the lyrics are freaking cringe-worthy, yuck.

How Beautiful You Are = skip skip skip on the album zzzz...

Boo to Ayu's engrish, but whatever.

But okay, don't judge a book by it's cover. We haven't heard the song in HQ yet. I hope that could change my mind.

That's not really how the saying works... lol but I agree. More like having to step back to enjoy the whole picture (i.e. the perfected product).

^ excuse me?

Party Queen sounds cool, I really like the melody. how beautiful you are sounds great too. and omg her vocals were so amazing. haters to the left.

Maybe they will announce new al or single after release of Kumi's JAPANESQUE.

ayu_ready? 2nd January 2012 04:25 PM

I forgot about that. Maybe it is, something about Party Queen does feel so familiar.

I agree with whoever said Ayu's English is a bit infantile... seriously, the title Party Queen shows her uhm... lack of understanding of colloquialism? Her English always sound like... that kind of parody English that you see older people using on TV to sound cool or something haha

speaking as a no-native english speaker, I'd say that it's way more easiear to write on informal english than formal one. And by informal english I mean: hi guyz how are u? I luv u 2 and so on :laugh.
I think it's understandable if you're not living in a english speaker country, like Ayu. But I remember a short interview when she was with Leslie Kee, and she replied in english. She sounded quite good and capable of answering correctly.

I think she's good at speaking but not at writing.
I mean, look at her english tweets :roflmao they could come from a 15 years old girl not from a 33 years old woman.

Maybe with Mannie she will learn how to write properly now.

how beautiful you are made me cry, such a beautiful song! It's been a while since she released a traditional ballad this good.
Party Queen is nice too, nothing special.

So much about that :rolleyes Not that I am a native English speaker :P

I think her English in the majority of RAINBOW tracks was pretty good, other than that I wish she wouldn't have used it in some of her tracks like glitter, forgiveness and a few others as well.

I didn't mean informal... I don't know how to explain it without sounding mean. I guess the best way I can put it is... her English sounds a bit dated, the things she says are correct in English... but nobody actually says them.

Who would use the phrase party queen?

pepper 2nd January 2012 06:49 PM

After listening to hbya at countdown, I DO REALLY LIKE THE "huh huh" choirs in the song. It sounds VERY western but It makes song memorable.

spanishfan 2nd January 2012 06:51 PM

We will probably get more Timmy songs in the album ^^

And about engrish, maybe she's singing in english made to japanese people. Those who are studying Japanese will know what i'm talking about. Like from "chocolate" they say "chokore-to"... When she wants, she speaks english very well (I think) For native maybe she'll never be good enough though, I don't know xD

letter 2nd January 2012 06:52 PM

Whenever I show someone a clip of Ayu, I avoid the songs that have English lines in them, because they don't even compare to her Japanese lyrics, and it makes her seem simpleminded to those who don't know her. I was watching her MY STORY tour with my dad, and he laughed during STEP you.

LMAO I didn't know party queen was such a dated expression. Sure you don't hear it often, but that's not really a reason why she shouldn't use it?

Aderianu 2nd January 2012 07:10 PM

i expected to hear announcement at cdl... then 1st january. but she still didn't say anything and i don't understand why %) album is almost ready.

The majority of her fanbase is Asian, she is not aimimg english speaking countries while singing in english, and I don't really think they care about how right or deep her english is... We must keep in mind that engRish is pretty much an aesthetic by it's on...

pepper 2nd January 2012 08:04 PM

idc about her lyrics in english - even the "STEP you" one, cause it doesnt really bothers me. the thing i dont like is how she sings in english when she tries to be serious (how beautiful you are, over, rainbow - but the english in rainbow was standable.) STEP you or Humming 7/4 are these songs that english makes it singalong and more fun.

Beauty4123 2nd January 2012 08:15 PM

"Party Queen" & "how beautiful you are" are fantastic. i love ayu's ballads, but to hear an upbeat song like "Party Queen" for a change is just great. it's so catchy! and "how beautiful you are" really is beautiful, too. :heart
