I can't listen to Eyes, Smoke, Magic without thinking she's singing "I smoke magic"

the song's title was Aerodynamic

I'm curious if they even give credit to Daft Punk. If not, this may be called... a plagiarism? :thud

yep, the arrangement is almost identical to the original, hope they will..1 day left before we can discover it

Holy god, this album is still in repeat since I downloaded it X_X haha

Seriously, this album takes a total new vibe when listened in a real audio system O.O
I can't skip any of the songs and I really think now that it's a cohesive album, changing the order makes it so strange xD

PS: she seems so confident in Tell me why... I love it.

RayJason 19th March 2012 09:32 PM

I hate how the album kinda died on me. The only songs that I'm playing are; Party queen, NaNaNa, reminds me, Return Road and how beautiful you are.

I have to blame my newest favorite ayu song Together When... I hate it when ayu releases something and I fall in love with older songs XD :laugh

TeamAyu2004 19th March 2012 09:41 PM

Im still in love with most of the songs on party queen...
I just skip over the interludes mostly and the jazz at the end...

Kanzaki 19th March 2012 09:51 PM

I most often play from reminds me and then listen to the album until it ends. But sometimes I start from NaNaNa and then skip Shake it(not bothering to find that heart symbol now). The rockish-pop songs on PQ are just so full of feeling, they sound amazing.

NintendoHTF1242 19th March 2012 11:27 PM

The only songs I have on repeat are call and Return Road. Return Road is truly, truly flawless.

jewelbox 20th March 2012 12:15 AM

To me best part of this album is Shake it♥ & from Letter to the next LOVE (without interludes). Rest of the songs are not my cup of tea.

teehee.

Pun intended?

I don't like the interludes on this album, I don't like many of the interludes at all really. Why not just make them full songs? I know they're meant to "transition" the album, but the albums flow perfectly fine without them and do for pretty much every artist but Ayu lol

I think they'd annoy me less if they weren't added to the track number when we're told about albums. I'd rather them just say 11 track album, that's a perfectly acceptable no. of tracks.

Zeke. 20th March 2012 01:24 AM

I only listen to reminds me and Shake It. Sometimes Tell me why but it annoys me.

ストロボ・EdGE 20th March 2012 06:01 AM

I've only listened to so much of it so I guess I can't give a full opinion but I don't love any songs so far. I liked Nanana at first listen but I must have been tipsy or something. Her voice made me cringe in so many of the songs.

Return Road is very nice though. I just listened to how beautiful you are for the first time and it's not terrible but it's not very good either. It feels like I'm listening to a better version of Curtain call, which I hate.

Kaiouforever 20th March 2012 06:06 AM

This album is amazing. She really shook things up again and delivered.

Only thing that disappointed me is that not every song has a PV. THAT would have been amazing.

TeamAyu2004 20th March 2012 06:09 AM

^ tell me about.
I hope if she does decide to release a blu-rau she does not add more, because then i would be forced to buy it... X.X

okay, after reading the lyrics translations (especially the next LOVE and ESM), this album is now bumped up to my 3rd favorite ayu album.
but, i now have to skip NaNaNa. even though everything else besides Timmy's talking is awesome.. i just can't put up with it.

Why? Is it because you dislike his voice? Or you think it doesn't mesh in well with the rest of the song?

I practically don't hear it anymore... it flows well with Ayu's voice and the rest of the song to me...

Now that we have translations to all but 2 songs... The "story" from the album seens to go like this IMO:

First Act: Party - Ayu is partying and having fun to not show her loneliness and sadness, and how messed her personal life is. It starts carefree and gets darker and angrier as it progresses
01. Party queen - She is drinking and partying to forget her problems.

02.NaNaNa - ---- need lyrics
03.Shake It♥ --- need lyrics

----

04.taskebab - A song named after a dish really makes me think about that "hunger" you feel after drinking too much, it's pretty common to people to go and eat something after a big alcohol filled party. This also marks the party end.

----

Second Act: Memories - After the party comes the hungover :P This time, she is thinking about the problems she is "hiding" from the public image while using her party queen image.

05.call - she talks about the time she realized her lover was "the one", and how this scared yet conforted her. She isn't able to name what she is feeling.

06.Letter - this is Ayu talking to herself, talking to the party queen Ayu, who feels lonely and sad, and who drinks and party to forget about it.

07.reminds me - After the party, the drinking, the fun, she goes home, alone, and have to face her problems again, as they are still there while she was pretending to have fun.

08.Return Road - The memories about the relationship end, how the ending of the relationship hurt her and how she was aware that people talked about it, made fun of it and believed it was a publicity stunt... But only them know how they felt at the time.

09.Tell me why - The use of "ore" may indicates that this song shows the male view on the ending of the relationship, and how the girl never talked about her sadness, about her problems, but just pretended being happy, and how this bothered the guy, and this eventually made them grow apart, as her lover couldn't feel he was part of her life at all.

----

10.a cup of tea - After all the memories and reflection, nothing like some tea to cure a hungover :P I like how chaotic this interlude sounds as IMO it really reflects how chaotic her feelings towards her personal life are.

----

Third Act: Conclusion - Why can't she trust people? Why can't she love and trust someone else? Can someone who don't know what love is, and that doesn't love herself share her life fully?

11.the next LOVE - A beautiful princess that will someday find her prince... But this girl doesn't believe in fairytales, so, how can she find a prince them? She doesn't believe on magical things like love, she doesn't love herself, she can't believe on something she can't see, touch or buy. (this, actually, reflects "call" lyrics)

12.Eyes, Smoke, Magic - The first mariage she ever saw, falled apart (and we all know she never saw her father after that), still, since she was a children, she was able to throw smoke in front of her eyes and just ignore what was wrong, pretending it never happened like magic. And maybe, she can't really change. The song reminds a showtune cuz musicals aren't reality, they are some staged story bigger than someone's everyday life.

----

The End
13.Serenade in A minor - A calm melody that leads to the album end.
14.how beautiful you are - I can figure out 3 ways of understanding this song on the album context:
1 - This is a song to Mannie, thanking him for being with her, supporting her while they were together and making her happy at the time.

2 - This is a self-enpowerement song, with Ayu telling the party queen she must love herself, cuz she is greater and stronger than she believes.

3 - A song to her fans that never left her and keep suporting and loving her, making her able to walk foward.

--------------

I really liked the progression of the lyrics, and even if I may be reading too much on the album, I do believe my interpretation fits the SCawaii interview we recently had. Still needs 2 lyrics to fully finish the idea^^
