Well, she's been on hiatus for all of those four years...moving around Europe, dating, getting married. I wasn't expecting her to release anything at all, although I didn't expect it to last over 2-3 years either.

I'm not doubting that we'll get something new eventually, but I've stopped expecting it for any time soon. A tribute album sounds interesting though, looking forward to what artists will contribute. :)

I haven't listened to Sakura Nagashi in over s year so I started a few days ago and been on repeat. It is perfect for this time of year. It amazes me that she nailed it with ONE SONG. If her work after hiatus is over is anything on that level, it will be worth it.

Tribute albums usually leave a lot to be desired as far as star power goes. At worst it'll be mostly low rent and washed out R&B singers.

^Not only that, but they're going to do the popular songs that have been covered a hundred times already. Songs that I've heard a million times already and am sick of. There's a 99% chance the album is going to include Automatic, Hikari, Wait and See, Movin' on without you, First Love, and Addicted to You. I have a feeling that most of the songs are going to be from her first two albums.

The tribute album is a decicion of Utadas manager, hower, she handpicked the songs (or at least was involved) and said something like---that she leave the interpretation of the songs to singer-songwriters...

I'm pretty sure we will get mostly high-class artist (similiar to YUIs album), or at least well known ones....

maybe Namie will do kettobase again :)
