has anyone sort of "re-discovered" a hitomi song recently?

I usually skip her ballads cos they're usually at the end of her albums, but I was jogging the other day while listening to huma-rhythm and I was bothered to skip the final track LITTLE MORE. and I'm glad I didn't, I didn't remember what a great song it is.
it's her best ballad imo, there's this really great part in the middle of the song where some guitars kick in :D

what are your favorite ballads by hitomi?

prussian blue 24th April 2008 09:39 AM

by myself!!!!! its so sad... and alone~ the lyrics and music makes me cry sometime...

little more isnt bad (but i do skip the song everytime ><) i love innocence, HIKARI, so you, love life and there is... (<--rock ballad i think) and also flow~ i like it the most (but why i forget about it?)

"Little More" is definitely her best ballads. It has such a nice melody. :yes

hitomi doesn't have that much ballads though. She has tons of mid-tempo songs, but not much ballads.

you know how sad i am? :cry

Well, Ayu doesn't seem to be in a-nation. So I'm not surprise that hitomi wouldn't. Plus, she didn't release anything new.

Beauty4123 24th April 2008 09:39 PM

would "IS IT YOU?" be considered as a ballad? because i really love that song. :P

elepop 24th April 2008 09:44 PM

^ It depends, I guess.

I think most people would say that it's a ballad, but to me, it's a mid-tempo track. Like most of her songs are (Hikari, Taion, innocence...). Everybody has it's own definition of what a ballad is. Same for rock!

Halla 24th April 2008 09:49 PM

I don't think IS IT YOU? is a ballad. and neither is By Myself.

I think hitomi only has like a handful of ballads: "kodoku na sora" , "LITTLE MORE" , "so you" & "flow".

to me ballad has to be slower than mid-tempo & have a certain mood :yes

Queen Bee 24th April 2008 09:50 PM

Would WISH count as a ballad?

Halla 24th April 2008 09:52 PM

^ it's up to you, but I personally think WISH is a mid-tempo rock song, it's a bit on the slower side but still mid-tempo.

Queen Bee 24th April 2008 09:55 PM

^Yeah, that's why I'm confused on how to classify it.

elepop 24th April 2008 10:02 PM

I really like "Forever". Which isn't really a ballad either, lol. But it's a really nice slower tempo track.

Randomness:

I was searching for HQ albums of hitomi and I stumbled on this page. I was reading the comments and I read this:

"yeah, try and hear for yourself. some of the songs are actually good. her style is close to koda kumi, although not as sl-tty."

Her style is close to Koda? Not really... XD

prussian blue 25th April 2008 09:38 AM

^euuw... koda and my darling hitomi??

they have really different style!

well i dont think WISH is a ballad~ its a rock ballad to me~ and so does it it you

talking about mid tempo songs~

i love pretty eyes~ :heart, hi hi hi (one of the best!!), 7 (SEVEN), renai hikou, GAMBLE, UNDER THE SUN, love me darling (<--is it ROCK?) and many many more~ yaikss hitomi's upbeat song are cool!

We really have a similar taste, I LOVE all the songs you mentioned there. Wow, renai hikou, that's such a happy and amazing song. When I listen to it I can feel nothing but happy. <333

What about flow? Not a ballad either? Oh mu God I love that piece so much. I don't know, it doesn't really sound like a ballad.

by myself original ver. isn't a ballad, however the SP version is! And it's amazing.

prussian blue 25th April 2008 10:09 AM

aha~ i have mentioned i like flow too lumix~

elepop 25th April 2008 12:03 PM

"flow" is definitely one of my favorite hitomi tracks! It's slow-tempo, but it's kind of dark and mysterious too.

But my favorite kind of hitomi songs must be those with lots of drums like Taion, PARADISE, Steady, Understanding and much more... :heart

Lately, I've been really into "Primary"!

ExodusUK 25th April 2008 12:12 PM
