I think you put it the other way around.. hehe... Seiko has the most consecutive no. 1 in female category (24 consecutive no. 1s)... ayu has 17 only so far. I think it will be very tough to beat 24 consecutive no. 1 in female. It'll be even harder to beat B'z 40 consecutive no. 1 :P.

Afterall, this is one of ayu's prides in the music industry. However, everyone knows that this will be gone one day no matter what (unless ayu announces about retirement after getting her last no. 1, but we dun see ayu have this thought).

I hope you dun feel offense by my words.. I'm just tryin' to say that as life goes on and you encounter more experience, you will know what to give up, what not to..

Side note.. I think avex's trying to do something.. According to the Natsu style, here's what they will do during the weekend: (translated by excite, and I modified a bit... dunno if it's 100% correct tho...)

Moreover, three kinds of specials will be prepared in CD sales in a live hall of the weekend... First of all, if one of four forms is bought, a clear file and a B2 poster will be given. Next, if 500 or more in total of four forms is bought, purchasers will be given a mirror, an XL poster, 2 clear files, and 2 B2 posters. (I hear that) "10th Anniversary memorial photo" which was taken on April 8th during live will be given when all of the four forms are bought.

I dunno if this is a good thing or not.. to be given lots of gifts in order to sell the cds...

Edit: Nope. Ayu has the most no. 1. Remember the official website posted a special opening after Startin'/Born To Be... getting no. 1?? That's the time when she officially became the most no. 1 singles female in Japan. Seiko has only 25 no. 1 singles, while ayu has 29.

never mind. i'm trying to forget she lost her #1 streak album.
i think she lose her #1 streak is better than she will retire:shakehead

and if i'm not wrong seiko has 25 consecutive #1 singles.

ok, then i had it backwards. seiko has the most consecutive, ayu has the most number 1's. haha. seiko still holds a record for singles. and becuz (i think "daybreak") one of ayu's singles didnt get number 1, ayu hasnt beaten that record. if daybreak got number 1, i think ayu would have the most consecutive...

No she doesn't, B'z has 40 #1 singles in-a-row as of October '07. Strangely, I'm not really that bothered anymore, #2 is still a great position! I think Ayu's singles have around the same sales as Koda Kumi's singles now. (Anything from 60k to about 100k), but obviously Ayu won't sell as much as Kuu would in the weeks after. Not that that's a bad thing.

bluegie 12th April 2008 01:36 PM

yes, that's so true. Now I really hate avex released Daybreak... If not, then let's count... M, evolution, NEVER EVER, Endless sorrow, UNITE!, Dearest.. 6 consecutive no.1... Oh well, not enough to beat Seiko.. :P.

Peger 12th April 2008 01:37 PM

Oh well, it was gonna end eventually. Kinda funny that it happened because of some bootleg boyband on ~speacial 10th anniversary single~.

che0173 12th April 2008 01:37 PM

woww
as if that boy band could maintain a 10k+ index for this amount of days =\
nahhh i reckon ayu would hold on just fine =D

Lanz16 12th April 2008 01:38 PM

Oh! About her #1 singles, I know she had 29 of it.
If she get her #1 again, it will become 30!

That's great, isn't?

If we worry too much about her losing her all straight #1 singles, there is something much better: that is her 29 #1 singles. Think about it.

No, if Daybreak got #1 she would still be at 25 in a row even if MW got #1 (which looks a bit unlikely now).

It would be M to Mirrorcle World. AUDIENCE got #2.

bluegie 12th April 2008 01:38 PM

Yes, this is the sarcastic part... I kinda she her streak is broken at another time.

TITANIC 12th April 2008 01:39 PM

^ now ayu has 17 consecutive #1 single,right?
weeww too hard she will beat seiko

I think tokyoxjapanxfan is talking about female category... If she has 25 consecutive no.1, she would be the most consecutive no. 1 in female section.

Zemus 12th April 2008 01:46 PM

Oh, my bad I thought Seiko had 26 in a row. Apparently it's 24 or 25 right? So, then Ayumi would hold the record indeed.

LOL at avex :laugh they can kill me laughing sometimes ...
They really want to keep ayu's singles #1!
At this point it's 50/50.

njanjayrp 12th April 2008 02:09 PM

Beh I couldn't care less about the streak, it's Ayu! And I didn't start listening to her cuz she had a long streak of no1s. And even if she loses it, it wouldn't be the first time, plus currently there isn't a living female artist in Japan who can pull 29 no1s in a row, in other Ayu already wrote history and it will take decades before someone accomplishes the same.

HamasakiKUN 12th April 2008 02:18 PM

But, i think we don't need to talk a lot about the record...coz, many artist espsecially woman cannot always get #1...Example is Utada and kuu..even both rarely reach #1 in single but both always doing well in sales and keep her career..i think if ayu lose her #1 streak it not means ayu sholud stop her career...

Many artist released single and just reached top 20 but they never stop produce music...

It's true, even Beautiful World didn't get #1 weekly, but it ended up selling 200+ k, and I would be way more happy to see MW do the same.

TITANIC 12th April 2008 03:13 PM

^ MW can do like that i think it's miracle for me.
usually her sales drop very fast not like hikki can stay in chart so long

MeruChan 12th April 2008 03:20 PM

Why are we discussing who's getting the most no#1 and consecutive no#1 streak?
We're here to discuss about Ayu's MW chart! It's doing great! About 110k 1st week I think. Or at least 100k!

Ps: I think that Ayu will beat Seiko's no#1 streak..it's only 7 to 8 singles more! Cross your fingers guys!
