Yeah, I don't doubt that Namie will come out with a single this year. She seems to be trending toward releasing just one single per year.

I don't think they sound weird.
Body feels exit is another story.

They don't really make any sense to me, though. I realized that Body feels exit is probably her weirdest title for a song, but everybody kept mentioning it already.

I would have to conclude that I don't care about the titles of the songs, as long as they are good songs. It's really not something that I should worry about, as long as she is releasing something :)

I agree. Body Feels Exit is such a weird title, but I still really like that song. Yeah, the title will give me pause for a second just because it sounds weird, but if the song sounds good, then I won't care anymore about the title.

Maybe another summer single :heart I'm really looking forward to a new album, but that'll probably be in the works for next year or something. But I'm still in love with PAST<FUTURE, so w/e. Namie has that spark which keeps you in love with her past music, she doesn't need to release a billion singles to keep you interested.

Gah. She's awesome.

kayokyokufan 13th April 2011 05:50 PM

I like and respect that she doesn't release music like crazy. Like you said Koumori, I still like her old music, but aside from that it's also good to be teased a bit. Also, the woman needs a break. I mean she tours like crazy and she has a son who is turning 13 this year. Wow, he's gonna be a teenager this year. Time sure flies.

adantatu2 14th April 2011 01:41 AM

i think she is gonna release just 1 single this year (3 aside single sounds amazing for me), and probably and album later,

KarenPang 14th April 2011 03:20 AM

Namie is 1 of the few artistes that take her time to release material & then most of the time , the quality's there

I like that she doesn't over release when comes to her stuff & frankly I don't mind to wait , especially since from Queen Of Hip Pop onwards , she has been doing the whole 1 album release every 2 years which's ok

hopefully a new album will drop this year since PAST < FUTURE was released in 2009 8D

kayokyokufan 14th April 2011 03:47 AM

I'm guessing that Namie will come out with a new album next year. I'm only guessing that since Checkmate! is coming out this year.

The first song title is like when you wake up and say "Oh...dreaming...I was only dreaming..." and the second is saying "close your eyes" and "(I'm) close to you" what is there to not understand?

kayokyokufan 14th April 2011 06:02 AM

Let's see, it's about 2 weeks until the release of Checkmate. I really hope they've already started re-promoting the album. I'm not in Japan so I don't know if they have. It would be nice if Namie did a few tv performances, but I'm guessing if she were going to do that then we would be hearing about it soon seeing as how the album is coming soon. Here's hoping although I'm a bit doubtful.

Or it could be... Dreaming I was dreaming, like she was dreaming that she was dreaming?

Picaflor 7/4 14th April 2011 04:53 PM

^Dreaming I was dreaming that I was dreaming. lol Inception.

Minttulatte 14th April 2011 06:11 PM

^AHAHAHAHA Inception <3

So there's two more weeks till Checkmate! is officially released? Nice. I can still wait...

...and torture the hell out of myself. :'D

JackieRos 15th April 2011 01:48 AM

But they are grammatically incorrect in a way that is hard to decipher their exact meaning. I'm not hating on the names, I actually find that a really cool aspect about them. Is it "Dreaming... I was only dreaming." or " "Dreaming... I was dreaming then" or what Chiharo just mentioned? Also, if you listen to the song"Close your eyes Close to you" you will hear the lyrics " Close your eyes, and not your mind, then close to you tonight". How in the world are you suppose to close to yourself? are you suppose to be close to yourself? are you suppose to close yourself? etc. They just don't seem like normal song titles, and that's just my opinion. If you believe that they are in plain grammatically correct English and that they make perfect sense, then go on ahead.

dreamland2.0 15th April 2011 02:32 AM

^Isn't it I will be close to you tonight? So close your eyes but not your mind and I will be close to you tonight.
And it's a song title so who cares :laugh

JackieRos 15th April 2011 03:48 AM

ok wtf is going here?

neuteka 15th April 2011 05:57 AM

Yeah, the subject itself doesn't matter at all. Picaflor asked me a question, so in turn I will respond with my complete answer. I won't just leave em' hanging :/ I know this isn't a extended discussion forum, but again, no one cares cause they are just music titles. :shrug

Minttulatte 15th April 2011 01:10 PM

Isn't Tetsuya Komuro known for weird song titles? :D He wrote Close your eyes, Close to you after all and his english is bad as hell sometimes. :'3
