I hate Avex/Ayu picking release dates tactically, what's the point of a record if it's based on such tactical date picking. Like when they've moved stuff with announcements to guarantee it, it's so... just voids so many arguments that Ayu doesn't care about rankings. This is Ayu, Avex would need her approval for a release date change.

She works for Avex Relmy,they don't work for her. They don't need to ask approval. If that were the case she wouldnt turn to a manager for approval before anserwing someone's questions.

What about all the times she's continued on despite being in conflict with Avex? If we're meant to believe she's fully in control of her career, she must have at least minimal say in her release dates. I don't believe she is as fully in control as people state, but I also don't believe all the release date tactics fall solely on Avex's door.

I think she is in a lot of control with her career but I think something like a release date just isn't on her mind. She makes the music, I doubt she says. "I need this released in Spring, because thats when the music is more powerful!"

Avex picks the date releases because avex has soooo many other dates and other artist to think of. Its not just Ayumi that is releasing an album for them and avex does not equal Ayumi, she works for them. (although she owns a fair bit of that company now, lol)

yea i also think that avex is the one who controls when their artists going to release their stuff.. ayu n staff just make the music..

I think avex is waiting to know "all" the release dates of march,so they can assure #1 to ayu

It's not only avex ! each music company tries to find the best date for their artists, principaly those who has a record. Ayu is not alone in that case there are also Kinki Kinds(single), B'z, koda kumi (album), majority of the johnny's etc... When they get the one spot and keep their record it's good because everywhere in TV they will speak about that ... good promo finally

Wouldn't it have looked bad if she had released the album now since people were speculating about the divorce being a marketing trick? I expected her to keep a low profile and am glad she did, even though I wanna hear the new songs

^I agree, I think if she released an album immediately after the divorce was announced people would've thought it had all been a publicity stunt. I'm DYING to hear something about the album but maybe Ayu realizes right now isn't the best time to be out in public if she wants to keep a positive image. Maybe she's letting things calm down, letting people forget about all the marriage and divorce stuff, so she can come out again and have people focus only in the music? :shrug

I don't seem them doing that unless ayumi performs a couple of the songs on the music shows something like a week before release... (and up to release)
