She also said that the final scene looks like the "boyfriend" wanted nothing to do with her when she was "fat" and only wanted her after she looked like Ayu. Overall, she found it offensive.

I really hope that the long version of this PV lends strength to Ayu's description of what the message of this PV is supposed to be. I have to say, the fact that she has to explain herself, like she did with the Party Queen covers, coupled with my friend's reaction to the PV, just screams poor execution, imo. Needing two versions of a video to explain its meaning? Ayu fans are dramatic, and I really don't think that this video is a reason to stop being her fan or the "worst video ever", but I don't think that the message was totally clear.

I agree, especially the bolded parts. The whole execution of this video is a mess. The part about laughing at her is why I didn't find it funny, I guess I'm sensitive though, eh? (or, maybe, I just don't like jokes at other peoples insecurities/mean spirited humour).

It's not a case of people not getting it, because it's not exactly difficult to see what she was going for, it's knowing what she was going for and then seeing how she failed to execute it. I think the PQ comparison is spot on, because it was obvious what she was going for there, but it just... wasn't very good. Neither warranted an explanation. That's very different to a deep PV with multiple interpretations (which would never need clarifying in the first place, because that's the point).

It's the director's fault for not conveying the meaning well enough. No one should feel bad for 'doubting' Ayu.

AyuGAME 29th November 2013 01:28 AM

Well for the first time watching it, i can't get the message...

but second time, i understand the message and loving it..

I'm not sure where the word 'insecurity' is coming from because the girl I saw in the video was anything but insecure about herself. You go out and you get what you want and don't take anyone else's bullshit.

Another thing... something about the way that they characterized this girl makes me think that she isn't one who would want your sympathy because of her size.

AyUmIXx 29th November 2013 03:06 AM

they should just release the full PV so that people wouldn't make bad impression towards the PV. sighh avex you failllllllllllllll!

truehappiness 29th November 2013 03:15 AM

At the very least, the 'short version' should have actually been short.

She was running the whole PV because she felt her body wasn't good enough for Ellis. :shrug Regardless of the "message" of the PV.

If that was true she would've just approached him, lol.

jyujiw 29th November 2013 03:37 AM

She really needed to explain herself. What a generation.

She approached him eventually with her body being the same as it was before. Who knows, maybe she was running to look for him?

I think she still looks the same, but probably feels like Ayu in front of the guy. :shrug

I don't think she needed to explain the meaning of the PV at all. It's right in front of your face? The PV is not that deep. It's no GREEN. I don't understand how the message is not clear.

It's just done, or cut off, I guess in this case, in the most idiotic way. And thats not even talking about the girl running around looking stupid.

I swear. One of the reasons why it's so hard to say anything here, is that people take anything negative you say, in completely the wrong way, and just decide to shoot it down because it's negative.

I don't even know how much more clearly people can say that the execution for this video is crap.

People running around saying her career is over, do that every time she releases something. Why do you guys even pay attention to them? Get over it already. She's got trolls lol Every fanbase does.

Totally agreed!
Somehow I miss the old ayu where she didn't even open herself to the fans.
Here's the pv, here's the song. Take it or leave it. Which artist ever respond to theur fans telling them the message of the pv =.=
Maybe she shd just start makig PVs like the older days (A Song for XX era)

Andrenekoi 29th November 2013 05:16 AM

Poor her for having a fanbase with a lot of people that are always too lazy to think 2 seconds about anything.

If the meaning isn't written all over the material she must explain herself or people start screaming "poor execution" everywhere. The Party Queen project shows that pretty well... It's one of her saddest albums and she still needed to sing she was a "lonely queen" so people could fucking understand the album title wasn't literal.

truehappiness 29th November 2013 05:30 AM

Yeah, the Party Queen thing was just like... you didn't get it after the first three tracks? Really?

Andrenekoi 29th November 2013 05:33 AM

Thinking about it, SHE EVEN SAYS SHE IS THE LONELY QUEEN ON THE 2ND TRACK! Damn!

Zeke. 29th November 2013 05:39 AM

Party Queen was a little different as unless you really were a fan you wouldn't know. Seeing her naked ass bent over doggy-style plastered all over semi trucks driving through Tokyo doesn't really scream "deep meaning"...

Andrenekoi 29th November 2013 05:42 AM

^See?
Her stuff will need a warning tag from now own:
"Caution, material with not so obvious interpretation"

ayu-michan 29th November 2013 05:49 AM

^ maybe she should print more of that cap "NO BITCHES PLEASE". That should be her new logo now.
