:P

They would lose money not earn money most likely. Many artists that have performed overseas have done so in conjunction with anime conventions so for them its not a financial risk since the con foots the bill. The few Japanese artists that have done concerts overseas without the help of conventions do not have big stage shows to begin with and have a larger euro and american fanbase than Ayu does. To stage a concert overseas is very expensive. It would only maybe work if she did a show with just her and the band but I don't see that happening..

hmm, maybe she can do another show like TA show in A COMPLETE DVD :)
like what hikki did recently :rolleyes

SunshineSlayer 30th January 2010 11:24 AM

^ Hikki though is playing at clubs. I can't imagine the record company/ayu agreeing to do a club tour these days; unless she had an english album or something to promote.

french, spanish and belgian... and from the letters she could see that...

So if we can expect an international date... it will be in Paris.. she knows that there's a lot of fans, now she knows she has a lot from other ountries that are able to move from other countries to see her only for 5-10 minutes (LOL), and Paris is quite central...

so... that xD

I whould also prefer Paris, the only reason I wasnīt there when she was in Paris that I didnīt got free days from my work. Paris is not that far, it can be also reached by car more easily than London, plus as you said allready, J-pop community there is bigger than in any other country in Europe.

nanakopy87 30th January 2010 11:31 AM

ah,i see.but i do really hope it will be like similar to that.i mean only her with the band with few dancers (ZIN please :D) perform when people is enjoying some drinks :P
hahahhaahah...
i think this is the best way to test the international market?instead of having a big and grand concert which we do not know if it will be successful or not.a mini concert to test the market around the world.

CeReSu 30th January 2010 11:31 AM

Paris is a excellent choice I think!

I kinda...wont be surprised if she doesnt say anything about it until she's back in Japan or on the plane...she probably wont have time...but who knows.

I agree. I don't think she'll write us a song either. She's already done that. RED LINE is not just for paying members of TA. She even called foreign fans TA in her blog entry. I don't know why people feel so separate from them here. :shrug

What is she supposed to call her fans outside of TeamAyu anyway? TeamAyu is a universal thing, I suppose... which is what she calls all of her fans regardless of if they've paid for membership or not. It's like the moment you listen to an Ayu song and love it, you're a member of TeamAyu.

Yep, in her latest blog entry, she called all the foreign fans TA too. ;)

Even without the US album Hikki would still be able to have a couple of smaller concerts, so I pretty much don't think that Ayu needs an English album, even less popular Japanese bands have performed in Europe (including GOTHIKA, heck they even sang in front of 80 people in Serbia...). Doing a smaller concert tour without dancers should be possible, even Olivia had a concert in France and to be honest (even though I love her) compared to Ayu her fan base is WAY smaller and she is simply less relevant. I doubt people expect her to carry a ship or a merry-go-round all over the planet so that a few thousands of people could see it...

ren0210989 31st January 2010 02:38 PM

agree with njanjayrp, she needs to do something like the Limmited TA love tour, just not in Asia.
that would definatelly pay off ^^

I know Miyavi did a world tour and had fans everywhere he went. I can't help but think "if Miyavi can have so many fans around the world, why wouldn't Ayu?" but SunshineSlayer is correct. It's a big risk trying to plan a concert oveseas with the high probability of losing money.

Thinking of it that way, I don't care if she plans a concert in America or not. If she doesn't, oh well. I'd rather her not lose money trying to please her international crowd of fans. She still makes frequent trips to Europe/America and judging by everyone's experience when she was in London this past week, meeting her is not impossible or out of reach. :)

I really think there should be a Team Ayu ~International~ fan club. Maybe that way she can learn how many international fans she has. Which means if there are enough of us (which I know there are) she might plan something overseas for us. :)

No offense to anyone...but hikki has more fans overseas than Ayu does...

she hooked all the otakus O_o

Besides, think about it, there are only 20,000 members at this forum...thousands of whom are leechers, lurkers, or not active.

I personally don't see Ayu doing a small venue tour....and she wont sell out the bigger venues...I mean, as much as I want it...I really don't see it happening.

and about Moriko said, I mean, anyone who knows me will know how proud I am of the book and how much I love it, but the reality is, the book had barely over a hundred entries from here, and I think Maxker said it ended up having "several hundred" pages?

Several hundred is not enough to warrant an international tour in several countries...maybe like uh what L'arc en ciel did when they went to Baltimore? I think her best bet would be Paris, like people said, or maybe New York, or LA...

I really have to agree with this. I don't know why there is a ll this talk about an international tour. I think the Internet and especially AHS is a good representation of the international, especially western fanbase. It's simply put, not that big. I would honestly say, save for a concert in Japan, if you want to see Ayu live, it won't happen and it makes sense that it doesn't. The numbers of Fans cannot compare to Japan. And I hate it when people go like "Why is she ignoring international fans?" She isn't. She is a japanese artist based in Japan who has a few hardcore fans over the world. But not enough to go completely crazy over it and start having activities over here. And Europe for example is even harder. She has Fans in Uk, France, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Germany, Eastern Europe. And when she is in London it's not like every european fan has the opportunity to go there. USA is also big. And if she holds a concert in NY, people in L.A. will complain. I just don't see it happening.

And I'm quite happy about it. For me Ayu is Japan. She should focus on Japan and try to keep her career stable over there instead of coming here and start loosing japanese fans in the process. People should be glad that a very few selected people know her here. If that wasn't the case I doubt we/the fans could have gone close and personal with her, like in London.
