Songs like Lick me and SUPERSTAR just seem to be sung in a way that's so not Kumi. She has a deeper, more powerful voice and songs like that should just not be sung by her. She has plenty of songs that are just as "cutie" but the way she sang them was just so much more fitting. SWEET MEMORIES, for example, is a totally cutie song, but like you said, it has a mature sound to it and she's not trying to sound like someone else. Even though these songs are all covers, she managed to put a Kumi touch on everything, and you can tell she made it her own. I hope this lesson was a learning experience for her, and it should be a project that she's proud of. Even in the live TV report, she sounded great! That's because the songs go well with her voice.

that's what I think too. the voice that she sings those songs in does not sound like her, same with Inside fishbowl. I think it's nice when an artist doesn't sing the exact same way every time.. but when they sing in a way that makes them sound worse than they normally would or like a different person, I can't really appreciate that. I agree about her putting her own touch to everything on Eternity too. I listened to the originals and honestly I didn't like any of them. I think kumi upgraded them all, especially misono's song. :yes

I can understand why some people would like the originals better if that's what they're used to, but I listened to Kumi's previews before listening to the originals and I also thought she upgraded them all. Yes, different singing styles are definitely good, but everyone has a range and when you go out of it... it's just not good.

No, I totally love Kumi's cute high-pitched voice! She can pull off both voices depending on the songs. I actually perfer the higher pitch like in BE MY BABY when she screams - so hot! But I love Kumi's cutesy Lady Go!!, Good Day, Lick Me, SUPERSTAR voices!

I love Kuu's voice in songs like JUICY, SHAKE IT, Ima sugu hoshii etc

I like her sultry voice best.

i agree! i love how versatile and unique her voice is, it sounds great in any octave.

i love her voice the most in her ballads, i like the deep voice ballads (eternity) and her higher pitched (ai no kotoba, anytime)

But I really don't like SWEET MEMORIES a lot it's a common song.
But good though sung by Kumi^^
It's the weakest song on ETERNITY imo.
I think Kumi is not thaaaaat mature bynow.
She's funny and hot but not boring I think :-D

I totally agree! I was truly blown away by this album. I love this album so much I have dreams with the songs as background music. I wake up singing Ienai yo almost every day. Not to mention jam sessions in my car on my way to school. xD; I am crazy for this album and for the first time in soooooooooooo long I am crazy for Kuu music again!

I knew she was capable of this level of quality with her music and she finally proved me correct! My only hope is that she continues with this quality for her next original album! I already can NOT wait!!!! :D

I love all her voices! I think they each show off different parts of her character in such a simple, but sincere way.

I like her to keep her quality level up with her vocals, but I dont want her sultry voice in the cutesy songs lol it would sound weird. And I dont want her cutesy songs to go away either...cause...thats who she is lol

Besides, I love the crazy cute little things she does with her higher pitched vocals lol like when she says "lick my lollipop" lol I so can not do the "lo-llipop" thing she does lol

Her vocals on Eternity were just amazing though. I feel like she's been getting better and better with them every year, and right now, she's just a top performer. It's great.


I feel like even though this isn't a peak in her popularity or sales, it sure is for her performance level.
